Mrs. Borders

Mrs. Borders earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Education from Ottawa University in 2009, the same year she acquired her current position teaching Choir at Cocopah Middle School. Mrs. Borders is the lead middle school choir teacher in the district. Her choirs have performed at numerous sporting, school, and community events, highlighted by a live performance with Foreigner in 2015. She has received awards for Choral Contributions through SCC, was an AMLA Teacher of the Year in 2014-2015, and was nominated for a Grammy Music Educator Award in 2013 and 2017. Mrs. Borders is very active in community ensembles, having participated in the SCC Community Band, the SCC Community A Capella Choir, and continues to participate in the Desert Echoes Flute Project.
