Mr. Blackman

Originally from New York, Mr. Blackman has called Arizona "home" since 1974. A Washington High School, Glendale Community College, Arizona State University and Ottawa University graduate, Mr. Blackman has earned a master's in educational intervention and leadership, with a minor in biology.

Prior to education, Mr. Blackman spent more than twenty years in the defense industry as an environmental engineer and chemist. Mr. Blackman has been teaching at DMHS since 2015 and has covered curriculum in oceanography/astronomy, Earth/space science and biology.

Mr. Blackman chose education as a second career because he was looking for a career that would be more personally gratifying. Making a difference in the lives of children is a calling and as exciting and challenging as anything he has ever done.
