Mrs. Brasen

From 1997-2013, Mrs. Brasen and her husband Larry raised their son and daughter, Sam and Holly, at SUSD schools; Pueblo Elementary, Mohave Middle, and Saguaro High School. During those years I served as a PTO volunteer, chaperoned day and over night field trips, piano accompanist for elementary, middle school choir/vocal music concerts, served as talent show judge and assistant director for 5 years, SUSD classified noon aide employee for 5 years, special ed. substitute and assistant for 2 years.

During 2002 - 2008 I was enrolled at S.C.C. ( Scottsdale Community College ) and graduated in 2008 with a Associates in Arts degree in Education. From 2007 -2009 I was also enrolled with N.A.U.( Northern Arizona University ) distance learning program @ S.C.C. I graduated in 2009 with a Bachelor of Science degree in K-8 Elementary Education, AZ Dept. of Education certified with K-12 S.E.l. - Structure English Immersion and K-12 Music endorsements.

My 2 older brothers and I were born and raised by our parents on our family's farm near Yankton, South Dakota. In 1983 I married Larry Brasen and started our life together in Billings, Montana. In 1987 we moved to Scottsdale, Arizona where we found gainful employment in the printing industry. We started our family when our son, Sam was born in 1992 and our daughter, Holly was born in 1995.

My favorite things are riding bicycle, motorcycle rides with my husband Larry, listening to and singing music, ( i.e.Michael Jackson, Chicago, Boston, Aerosmith to name a few ) pizza of any kind any time, traveling and sight seeing, and most of all spending time with my family; my husband Larry, celebrating 39 years of marriage, Sam, graduated from S.C.C. and in May 2016, from N.A.U. with a Bachelor of Arts in K-12 choral music education and was an active member in Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia. Sam has been choral director since in SUSD schools Tonalea K-8, and currently,2022 is the full-time choral and guitar director at Coronado HS. Holly, also graduated from S.C.C. with a Associates in Fine Arts-(emphasis in jazz/choral music) and an Associates in theater tech/ performance/ makeup and stage production, and graduated from ASU in 2019 with a Bachelors in theater production. She is currently 2022 the Mgr. of the sound & lighting dept. at the Scottsdale Medieval Times Castle.
