Miss Chen

Miss Chen was originally born and raised in Taiwan. She obtains her bachelors degree in English in Taiwan and Masters degree in Curriculum and Instruction from George Mason University in northern Virginia. She also holds an endorsement in Mandarin. Prior to coming to Scottsdale Unified School District, Miss Chen has taught Mandarin to college international students in Taiwan and elementary schools in the United States. By immersing herself in such a culturally diverse community in the United States, she believes that it is critical for an educator to empower our students to respect and embrace others’ languages and cultures, and to value the asset of learning a foreign language. She looks forward to learning with her colleagues, students, and the community at Desert Canyon Elementary School.
