It is very important that undocumented and DACAmented students have opportunities to participate in a wide variety of programs that serve their needs, expand their experiences, and strengthen their skills. Listed below are a variety of options that we encourage participation in.
All Pima JTED programs are open to students regardless of immigration status. Each program provides students with certifications and specific hands-on experience within a field of interest to them.

The Undocumented Youth Empowerment Initiative (UYEI) seeks to help Arizona Undocumented youth find pathways beyond high school.
UYEI provides year-round support and programming to Undocumented youth through consistent spaces where they can build community and have the opportunity to thrive. Undocumented youth who participate will have access to our student support team and workshops in the following areas:

Prop 308 allows for qualifying, non-citizen Arizona high school graduates to receive in-state tuition at Arizona universities and community colleges.
The student attended any public or private high school or homeschool equivalent while physically present in Arizona for at least two years.
The student graduated from any public or private high school option or homeschool equivalent in Arizona or obtained a high school equivalency diploma in Arizona, i.e., a GED.
Undocumented students that meet the qualifications are eligible for in-state tuition and state-based aid and scholarships regardless of their status.

In order to be eligible to apply to the National College Match in the fall of 2019, applicants must graduate from high school during or before the summer of 2020 and plan to enroll as a freshman in college in the fall of 2020.
The National College Match is open to all U.S. Citizens and Permanent Residents OR students, regardless of citizenship, currently attending high school in the United States.
Students applying for each scholarship must submit a 500- to 1,000-word essay. The essay requirements depend on the major the student plans on studying or is currently studying in college.
Any major: Write an essay based on the poem “Howl,” Part 1, by Allen Ginsberg. You can find the poem here. Carefully read the poem, and use your interpretation of the poem to write an essay that explains what message you believe the writer was trying to convey in the poem. Include what the poem means to you, and why the poem is relevant for today’s society.
Business or a STEM subject (science, technology, engineering, or math): Write an essay based on this prompt: “How is technology going to change your way of life in 15 years?” Your response can include thoughts on subjects ranging from work to home and personal life.
Students must be currently enrolled in a U.S.-based high school or college. Students graduating from high school must plan to attend college during the fall semester in the same year as the application.
Eligible colleges include two-year and four-year universities in the United States.
Students who apply must have a minimum GPA of 3.6. Current (unofficial) transcripts must be sent with the application.

The Boilard-Harkin scholarship was established to support students beginning their post-secondary studies at a community college. Awards are ONLY made to community colleges.

The Arizona Association of Latino Administrators and Superintendents (AzALAS) is providing scholarships to graduating high school seniors. Scholarships must be used at an accredited post-secondary institution seeking an undergraduate degree.

Private Liberal Arts College
At Prescott College, the application process and financial aid are open to all students, including both undocumented and DACA-status students. Undocumented students can receive merit-based and need-based aid as well as apply for endowed scholarships. The Freedom Education Fund is available specifically for undocumented students.
As of April 2018, Prescott College will admit any qualifying undocumented student at no more than the cost of resident tuition at Arizona’s three state universities.
The Freedom Education Fund Scholarship is available specifically for students who are undocumented and demonstrate financial need. To be considered for need-based aid, students can fill out a FAFSA on the Web Worksheet or they can fill out the paper FAFSA and return it to the Financial Aid Office. This information is only reviewed by our school staff to consider students for institutional need-based aid.
