Step 1 - Finding a SureMark Credential Holder in the directory

• To begin the process we need to visit the SureMark Directory at https://directory.suremark.digital/S 

• Once you at the SureMark Directory, we will beging to select a user to verify

  • Select the first letter of their last name -or- use the "Search by last name" box.

• Now that you see the person you would like to verify, click on their name or image to visit their directory page

• • Once you are on the SureMark credential holder's page, you have automatically copied their public key information into your SureMark browser extension. This process helps you to verify their credential.

Step 2 - Challenging a SureMark Credential Holder's Identity

• Now that we have added the Credential Holder's key information into the SureMark browser extension, now we can begin the challenge

• • Now click on the SureMark browser extension and select the "SureAccess" link

  • This is the place you go to send an identity challenge -or- respond when someone is challenging you.

• • In this example we are going to issue a challenge

• • Once you click the name, a popup will appear asking you to confirm the challenge

• • Go ahead and click the button labeled "Yes, Challenge This Person"

• • Now we wait for the user to login with a password and verify the challenge

• • Once you see the green box with the text "Verified" you are sure that you are talking with the correct SureMark Credential holder

Step 3 - Responding to a SureMark Credential Identity request

• •  Select "SureAccess" and click the button labled "Response"

• • You will be prompted to request a one use password via email

• • Check your email for the one time password and then click "Login"

• • Once you see this screen, click the green "Connect" button to go online to receive requests

• • Now you are waiting for a challenge to come in

• • To accept this challenge, you need to click the box labled "Click to sign this challenge"

• • You will now be prompted to sign in with your main SureMark Credential digital signature, Your secret password that you created when you initally signed up for your SureMark Credential.

• • Once you put in your password, the screen will change to a status of "Pending Response"

• • You will recieve a popup screen that says that the say "Challenge response sent successfully!"

  • You have now completed verifying your identity!
