The Makeblock app is the essential starting app. It links to the mBlock Blockly app. Note you will need both apps installed. APP is a robot control software in smart devices. Everyone can directly control Makeblock robots using official controller in the software, or creates and programs a specific controller to achieve richer robotic functionality. mBlock Blockly, renamed from the mBlock App, is a graphical programming software made by Makeblock for STEAM education. It introduces users to the world of robotic programming using step-by-step learning.
The perfect why to introduce students to mBot coding. This app is made up of 10 self paced lessons . Topics include; Sequence, Speed, Loop, Stop, Wait, Branch, Condition, Compare, Lightness and Numbers. The whole 10 lessons can be completed in about an hour. The lessons start very easy and progressively get more complex. This can be done individually but makes a nice collaborative problem solving task for two students. Students could swap control after each problem. When students have complete each lesson they can keep track of their progress using a checklist that doubles as an achievement certificate. TEACHING RESOURCE Certificate Link (Google Slide - make a copy and modified as required). mBot Certificate of Coding PDF version, ready for printing out. This is designed so teachers can check off student progress. It could also be used as a self check or peer check.

mBlock allows users to program robots to do anything they can imagine. By showing the outcomes of coding in the physical world, we attempt to keep students engaged in learning code and bring them senses of fulfillment.
With mBlockly, your mBot robot may perceive distance via ultrasonic sensors, mind its feet through line-tracking sensors, and be afraid of dark with its lightness sensor. Build short programs to let your mBot move or sing a little song when it is happy or sad.
This is a simplified version of the coding app. Connects easily with Bluetooth. Has three nice simple demo that you can modify.
