At each grade level, students will practice goal setting and reflection with guidance from adult mentors (staff, counselors, parents, community members). Middle School Academic and Career Planning goals center around students learning more about who they are as learners and how their strengths and interests align with potential careers and career paths. Student goals and plans are expected to change often based on their personal experiences.
6th Grade Student Experiences & Outcomes
Complete Personality Inventories and Personality Assessments to identify strengths and areas of interest.
Set personal goals and reflect on their success.
Complete Xello lessons on the following topics: School Subjects at Work, Interests, Decision Making, and Time Management.
7th Grade Student Experiences & Outcomes
Set personal goals and reflect on their success.
Reflect on strengths and areas of interest and adjust as needed.
Complete Xello lessons on the following topics: Learning Styles, Discover Learning Pathways, Biases and Career Choices, and Jobs and Employers.
8th Grade Student Experiences & Outcomes
Set personal goals and reflect on their success.
Reflect on strengths and areas of interest and adjust as needed.
Complete Xello lessons on the following topics: Skills, Explore Career Matches, Transition to High School, and Self-Advocacy.
Attend Superior Middle School Career Fair.
Explore Superior High School Course Catalog and select elective courses of interest.
