WILL ALL STAFF AND STUDENTS BE REQUIRED TO SELF-CERTIFY VIA ZIPPSLIP?
● No. If an individual is present at school, the individual or parent (if the individual is a minor) is confirming that every response to the COVID-19 Screening Questions listed below is “NO.” This is irrespective of vaccination status.
● If the answer is “YES” to any of the questions below for a student, the individual should not come to school and you should notify your student’s school nurse as soon as possible.
○ I have tested positive for COVID-19 and have not completed the quarantine period.
○ I live with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19 and has not completed the quarantine period.
○ I, or someone I live with, have/ has COVID-19 related symptoms (Fever of 100.4 degrees or higher, headache, shortness of breath, new cough, sore throat, vomiting, diarrhea, new loss of sense of taste or smell, fatigue or muscle or body ache of unknown cause).
○ I have had close contact with a person who has tested (or is presumed) positive for COVID-19 and I am NOT vaccinated against COVID-19.
○ I have tested for COVID-19 and am awaiting results.
○ I live with someone who has tested for COVID-19 and is awaiting results.
WHO HAS TO WEAR A MASK?
Masking is optional for all students, staff, and visitors.
Individual returning under reduced exclusion protocol (after 5 calendar days) are still required to be consistently masked at all times for 5 calendar days.
Federal law requires passengers and drivers to wear masks on school transportation.
WILL STUDENTS BE REQUIRED TO WASH OR SANITIZE HANDS?
Hand washing sinks and hand sanitizers are available in both schools and will be utilized regularly.
WHAT WILL THE DISTRICT DO TO CLEAN/DISINFECT THE SCHOOLS?
Disinfecting (using disinfectants on the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency COVID-19 list) removes any remaining germs on surfaces.
High touch surfaces will be cleaned throughout each school day & specialized disinfecting equipment will be utilized throughout each building each night.
WILL STUDENTS BE ALLOWED TO HAVE SNACKS?
Yes, appropriate snacks may be consumed indoors or outdoors at designated times.
WHAT WILL LUNCH LOOK LIKE?
Students will have a lunch period with assigned seats with their grade level peers.
Lunch service will be “Grab and Go” style.
Lunch purchases will require use of MySchoolBucks and cash will not be accepted.
IS IT POSSIBLE TO HAVE DIFFERENT RULES AT DIFFERENT SCHOOLS?
Yes. This will depend on transmission rates at the individual schools and guidance by grade level/age. We will mitigate locally at specific schools as needed.
WILL WE PROVIDE REMOTE LEARNING?
Yes. Asynchronous learning activities will be available for students that are under an exclusion protocol for COVID.
WHAT ARE THE TRAVEL QUARANTINE PROCEDURES?
Travel “ADVISORY” information from the CCDPH can be found HERE.
Adherence to the travel “advisory” is based on self-monitoring, and a family should notify the nurse if a student elects to quarantine following travel.
The schools will not be monitoring travel quarantine status but any student electing to quarantine AFTER travel will be allowed to participate in the temporary remote program during the quarantine period. The District will not provide remote activities during travel.
WILL THE DISTRICT OFFER COVID-19 SCREENING TESTING?
FREE PCR-based COVID-19 testing is available in the area and can be accessed from the COVID-19 Resource Page of the District 29 website.
District 29 will also provide a voluntary rapid antigen testing/screening program for symptomatic individuals.
