Statement

As of October 1, 2022 the City of Fort Pierce has taken over all services at the 100 Savannah Road, Fort Pierce address. The City of Fort Pierce believes it can serve the community's animal welfare needs on its own. Sunrise Humane Society's contract and lease have been terminated following differences in operational strategy and funding challenges.

We will no longer be involved in operations at that location.

It is time for Sunrise to launch a new chapter. We are NOT disbanding. We will regroup to determine how best to serve our mission of providing rescue, fostering, transportation and rehoming for animals in our area. Please bear with us and we will provide further information as soon as possible on our website, www.sunrisehs.org and in an emergency situation, a message can be left at info@sunrisehs.org. We will continue to update our volunteers via our Facebook volunteer page.
