Joy comes to us in moments, ordinary moments. We risk missing out on joy when we get too busy chasing down the extraordinary. Brene Brown
It may seem hard to find the joy of an ordinary day in our current times. However, taking a moment to really experience and appreciate the joys that we experience through our day is so valuable to experiencing life in a positive way. Here are some tips to find joy in your days this week in the hidden places.
Sip your coffee or tea and experience the taste and feeling of warmth it gives you.
Stand outside and experience the feeling of sun or wind on your face.
Take a moment to really examine the fall leaves - isn't this shedding of nature incredible?
Take a few extra moments in the morning to feel good about waking up and feeling okay.
Feel the coziness of your bed.
Really listen to the voice of a person you really care about.
Feel how good it feels when you say or hear “I love you," or "I care about you".
Enjoy a moment of your friend laughing with you or of something that really makes you laugh!
Wear your favorite shoes, shirt, cologne/perfume….anything you save for special occasions.
Put on your favorite music and just sit, close your eyes, and really listen to it.
Take the time to feel good about what you accomplish and any good or positive you experience in the day.
