Career Clusters are a framework that allow students to more deeply understand the knowledge and skills necessary for future careers within the 16 Career Clusters. The associated Course Pathways give students an idea of the Sun Prairie Area School District coursework that they should pursue should they have an interest in a specific career area, or level of education.
The Course Pathways that are found within this section are to be considered a framework and do not represent all of the course options or potential pathways that are available to students. It is for this reason that students should seek out additional information about available courses through the Course Expo (for students at SPHS and CHUMS) or through conversation with their School Counselor.
As with all course planning, it is important that students and parents meet with their School Counselor to discuss in more detail the options that are available for post secondary coursework options that best meet the interests of the student. All SPASD students should participate in their Sophomore Conference to ensure that their planned course program meets graduation requirements, and ensures that prerequisite coursework is taken in sequence. As certain courses have prerequisite learning that should be taken prior to enrollment in the class, it is important to map out options well in advance so that students can stay on track with their academic program of interest.
