Badge/Swipe Card

Sunman-Dearborn Schools utilizes HID Prox card Id badges. These are used both for identification with name, picture and building but also to provide access the buildings, Copiers and Time Clocks throughout the district.

New staff may receive a temporary blank card for access but should make sure to get a printed id badge shortly after school starts.

Badge Uses

• Door access - This will be programmed by the IT staff for your building further access may be requested through your administration.
• Copiers - This is a self register access, when swiping your badge for the first time it will ask you to login into the copiers and enter your user ID and password, this is the same credentials that are used on any PC. Your ID card then can be used for quick access but you can still always login with your PC credentials also.
• Time clock - This is maintained by Central Office.

Troubleshooting

• Avoid bending your card as any crack in it can cause it to malfunction.
• If your card isn't working on one device try another like a door or copier. This will determine if it is a bad card or device issues, provide this information when submitting a ticket to IT.
• Door access
  • When swiping your card listen for a beep and the light to blink, if you can't get either than most likely a damaged card. At most buildings a green light indicates access granted and a red light access denied.
