Wellness Policy

Sunman-Dearborn Community Schools has developed a Wellness Policy that is focused on improving the health of students.  The policy was developed by the Wellness Committee that includes a variety of staff members including teachers, administrators, counselors, nurses, and instructional assistants.

Vitality

Part of our comprehensive Employee Wellness Program includes a free biometric screening during our annual Health Fair, as well as a smartphone app and wellness portal - Power of Vitality.  Here, our employees are encouraged to develop health habits and can use the app to track their progress toward wellness goals and earn points.  These points can be redeemed for gift cards or fitness devices.

Wellness Committee

Our Wellness Committee meets throughout the school year to plan wellness-related events for staff and students.  The committee also reviews, evaluates, and implements the Wellness Policy.
