Master Sergeant (Retired) Eric Houston Avery is currently serving as Senior Aerospace Science Instructor (SASI) of the SC-873. He served as Advance Aerospace Science Instructor from 2006 to 2018. He was recognized as an Outstanding Instructor for eight years. He earned campus Teacher of the Year in 2021. He was born in Fayetteville, North Carolina. He served honorably in the United States Air Force and retired after more than 20 years of service. He is married to the lovely Linda Avery she is also an teacher. They have two sons Jonathon and Mark. He has one daughter in law Shavontae. He has four awesome and AMAZING grandchildren, Sean, Jace, Ariana and Aaliyah.

Community Involvement: Eric is totally involved in the community serves as Deacon, Couple’s Ministry Leader, Armed Forces President, and President of Athletics Ministry at Jehovah Missionary Baptist Church, Sumter SC. He has volunteered many hours to youth in the community as coach and mentor. He is Chairman of the MH Newton Family Life Center Board. He organized numerous groups to conduct community projects to help elderly and under privileged youth. He earned the Sumter Military Citizen of the Year Award.

master sergeant (retired) michael selle
Master Sergeant (Retired) Michael Selle is currently serving as Aerospace Science Instructor (ASI) of the SC-873 rd . He was born in East Saint Louis, ILL. He served honorably in the United States Air Force and retired after more than 24 years of service. He has two children Jennifer who resides in Indian Land, NC and Christopher who resides in Sumter. He has two granddaughters Ryley and McKenna Glahn.
Community Involvement: Michael is totally involved in the community serves as Steward for his Church. He has volunteered many hours to youth in the community as a mentor. He officiates High School to youth sports for baseball, volleyball and basketball.
