Scott Ross enters his 33rd year in education, with as much passion as ever to have a positive impact on the teachers and students that he now serves through Summit Educational Service Center in NE Ohio.
Scott retired from Manchester Local Schools (Akron) after an accomplished 32-year career, serving as a teacher, coach, Director of Technology, Assistant Principal and finally High School Principal. For over 25 years, he focused on effectively integrating new technologies into K-12 instruction and leading professional development that created valuable learning opportunities for students. With the 2020 release of the powerful documentary, "The Social Dilemma", a new passion was born for understanding the impact of embedded AI algorithms in social media on all of us, but especially our young people. Since December, 2022, Scott has immersed himself in understanding artificial intelligence - exploring how AI is reshaping our world, impacting K-12 education, and remapping what the future holds for students. His mission now focuses on guiding teacher understanding of the need to balance over-use of technology, with the necessity of AI literacy in our schools.
