The annunal Students vs Teachers Volleyball game will be taking place Friday, April 11th. 5th graders will work together with their class to try and beat the teachers! They have been working hard & taking time during recess to practice their skills! Hopefully this is the year!
5th graders will also be playing against each other and the winning team will not only get a Certificate of Achievement that will hang in the gym, they will be awarded the Golden Volleyball that will remain in their classroom until the end of the year!
Each winter the Summit Elementary School Physical Education Department tests their 5th grade students in basket shooting skills. Each Elementary PE Teacher then enters their top 6 boys and 6 girls in the contest. The contest gives students a chance to highlight their skills on teams with the students from the other Elementary Schools.

Elementary Cross Country Run: 3rd, 4th, 5th Grade Monday 11/4
Come, watch, and cheer on students as they participate in our annual Cross Country Run! This is open to all 3rd, 4th and 5th graders in all the elementary schools in Summit, no registration necessary! Students just need sneakers and comfortable clothing to run in and show up to the starting line when their race is called! The course is 1 mile long, and all students are invited and encouraged to participate.
'On the Bench in PE' is a record keeping system to help decrease time taken away at the beginning of class having to address students who need to sit out.
If a student has a note from home, or the nurse has already informed me that a student is sitting out this ticket would not needed.
This ticket can also be used if a student needs some re-focus time if they are having difficulty following directions.
I do ask that students bring this home to be signed by a parent/guardian and be returned. This will help keep students accountable as well as keep those of you at home aware of what is going on in class!
