The services that are offered at school include:
Individual Counseling
Individual Counseling is a short-term counseling service that is available to every student at Brayton Elementary. This service is requested by parents, teachers, and or students. Our session will focus on school-based problems that could be affecting their academic and or emotional well-being. If you would like me to meet with your child, please contact me with further information.
Small-Group Counseling
Small-Group Counseling is a 6-8 week-long service that is offered to all grade levels throughout the school year. Similarly, to individual counseling, your child will be referred to this service as needed by their teacher. Your child will meet once a week during lunch with other students in their grade to discuss social skills topics such as Friendship, Growth Mindset, Self-Esteem, etc. If your child is selected for this group a permission slip will be sent home explaining the details of the group further.
Class Lessons
Class Lessons are a service I provide throughout the school year. The goal of this service is to teach lessons that are relevant to the school-wide goal/theme and promote social-emotional learning. If the needs of the school were to change, I would then change my lessons in response.
Lunch Bunch
Lunch bunch is a service I provide where students can request to have lunch with me and up to three other students from their grade. This lunch works toward resolving conflict that may be happening with your child and their peers. All children are notified before the lunch and have the option of if they would like to attend or not. This service can also be used as a positive reward from teachers.
