A scholarship of $2,000 is awarded to a female student planning to attend a four year college, and $1,000 is awarded to a female student attending a community college. Could you also provide which week after April 9th works best for interviewing the candidates?

Aspen Street Architects-Vincent Lee Memorial Scholarship
Due March 10th. $500. Seniors only.

Bear Boosters Scholarship
Due March 15. Multiple scholarships- $250-$1000. For students who have had Summerville High Athletics shape their future plans and contributed to the person they are today. Minimum 2.5 GPA. Include a short essay 250-500 words, double-spaced. “Describe how participating in athletics at Summerville High has shaped you into the type of individual you are today or wish to become. How will you carry those lessons into your life?” Include your scholarship profile and turn in to Mrs. Ditler.
R. Leroy Baumgardner Memorial Scholarship
Due April 28, 2024 Amount $200. For students pursuing a career in music. Include your scholarship profile and turn in to Mrs. Ditler.
Beau Bachtelle Memorial Scholarship
Due April 14, 2024 - Amount TBD. Turn in your scholarship profile and 1 page response to the following prompt to Mr. Ditler. Beau Bachtelle left a huge impact on the Summerville Bear Community. He was involved in so many activities and was a force for good on campus and beyond. This scholarship is meant to honor students who exemplify Beau’s love for this school and community. How have you positively impacted the Bear Family/Community in your time at Summerville or Connections?

Bruce Paxton Memorial Scholarship

The Race to End the Stigma Scholarship was created in efforts to begin the conversation about mental health. The $1,000 Race to End the Stigma scholarship is granted annually to graduating high school seniors within the twenty-one countries that we serve who have expressed interest in raising mental health awareness or who have shared their story about mental health. Recipients are selected on the basis of academics, extra-curricular activities and their essay on one of three topics about mental health.

Due March 22nd, 2024 - This year TWIST is offering community service scholarships to graduating seniors who plan to attend college or trade school. Scholarships, in the amount of up to $1,000.00, will be awarded to students who exemplify the TWIST ideals of community involvement and improvement, with an emphasis on Tuolumne Township area community service.

Griffith Low Outstanding Student Athlete Scholarship
Due March 1st, 2024 - 2/$250 scholarships. 1 male/1 female. In honor of Griffith Low, the Hawaiian Mailman, also known as, Coach, Mentor, Referee, Umpire, Open Gym Director, Minister, Dad, Pops, and Papa Low. Giving lots of his time freely, serving not only our schools, but our whole community. Sharing his knowledge and love of sports with young and old, alike. Teaching not only the technical aspects, but also life skills, respect for oneself and others. Always encouraging and uplifting, done with humor and the ever present, Aloha spirit. For students who graduated from a Tuolumne County Elementary School and have been involved in athletics and have demonstrated outstanding character, integrity, loyalty and sportsmanship. The Sonora Independent Order of Odd Fellows (IOOF) Lodge #10 will award a $2,500 scholarship to a Tuolumne County graduating senior pursuing studies or apprenticeship in career and technical fields. The applicants will be judged on need, scholarship, and dedication to their chosen career field.

Summerville High School EDUCATIONAL SCHOLARSHIP TO APPLY FOR THE SCHOLARSHIP: One multi-year scholarship in the amount of $2,222.22 per year for up to four years will be awarded to a Senior at Summerville High School annually who emulates Luc’s spirit and tenacity for life. This scholarship honors the memory and life of Major Lucas “GAZA” Gruenther a U.S. Air Force F-16 pilot who lost his life while flying a night training mission over the Adriatic Sea. This scholarship is open to Summerville High School Seniors who are US Citizens and have the spirit and ambition to advance them-selves and benefit the community while Living Like Luc. Applicants will be considered for their spirit, ambition, love of life, and contributions to their community.

2024 Yosemite Community Scholarship. The deadline to apply is April 15, 2024
To be eligible to apply for and receive a Yosemite Community Scholarship, you must meet the following qualifications:
Graduating from high school during or at the end of the 2023/2024 academic year.
AND
At least one of the following:
At least one parent or guardian has worked for at least 6 of the previous 12 months within the boundaries of Yosemite National Park, the El Portal Administrative Site, or the NPS office in Mariposa for either NPS, YHS (Aramark), TAAG, YC, NB, or at the park schools of El Portal, Yosemite Valley, or Wawona. The student must live with this parent or guardian at least 50% of the year.
-or- Currently enrolled in the El Portal School, Yosemite Valley School, or Wawona School.

Robert Caldera Construction Scholarship
Due April 5th, 2024 - $500 scholarship to a graduating senior planning to attend a trade school or planning to participate as an apprentice in the construction trades beginning fall of 2024. Awarded scholarship may be used for trade school expenses, construction classes/certifications, and/or tools to be used in chosen trade. Established to honor the teaching career of Ron Arington at Sonora High. He taught ag science classes and was FFA advisor for 28 years. He did in a tragic ranching accident in January 2004. He loved life, his teaching career and kids. He loved his mules, his dogs, the mountains and being involved with our great community.

This scholarship is given in memory of Sue Griffiths, who was an active member of the Small Livestock Association and 35 year 4-H leader. The scholarship is a $1000 award given to deserving young adults who meet the criteria set forth below. The number of scholarships awarded is dependent upon available funds.
1. Applications are open to any person graduating from the Tuolumne County education system within the current school year.
2. Applicants must have shown small livestock at the Mother Lode Fair (in the rabbit, poultry, and/or goat show) within five years of applying for the scholarship.
3. Applicants must have maintained at least a “C” average throughout high school.
4. Applicant must have plans to continue their education at a university, college, junior college or trade school.
5. The written application shall be made using the format below. It must be in ink or typed and may not exceed two pages.
6. Proof of enrollment in qualifying continuing education must be received within 9 months of scholarship notification. The actual award is sent after proof of enrollment is received.
