Studio in Art Overview:
Our lessons will include a variety of two-dimensional and three-dimensional projects focusing on the elements and principles of art. Assignments will be available through Google Classroom and the portal. I look forward to a year of creativity and exploration!

* The Final Assessment - Culminating Art Portfolio will be 20% of final grade.
Final Assessment: Culminating Art Portfolio - A comprehensive, end of course evaluation that compiles a digital collection of students’ best artwork designed to showcase their technical skills, understanding of visual concepts, creative process and unique artistic voice.
Key Components:
Selection of Artworks: A variety of completed pieces showcasing different media, techniques, and themes.
Artist Statements: Written reflections explaining the meaning, process, and personal connection to each piece or the portfolio as a whole.
Sketches and Process Work: Evidence of planning, experimentation, and development of ideas.
Portfolio Presentation: Digital - Google Slides Presentation.
To assess the student’s learning and development in art.
To encourage self-reflection and artistic growth.
To prepare students for post-secondary art opportunities or personal creative pursuits.
Participation:
Students can earn participation by arriving at class on time and being prepared to work once the bell has rung. Students are responsible for working through the duration of the period productively and without causing disruption to oneself or peers. Students are expected to try their best and participate in reflective discussions, turn in assignments on time and adhere to the policies set by the district.
