Introduction
Hello all,
This is my fifth school year at Spackenkill High School. I will be teaching Regents Chemistry and AP Chemistry. Additionally, I am taking on the roll of Mentor Coordinator for our new staff in the district, and Freshmen Class Advisor along with Mr. James Boyd.
To give you some brief information about myself, I was born and raised in Kingston, NY. I completed my Bachelor of Science in Chemistry at SUNY New Paltz, before going to Clarkson University for my Master in the Arts of Teaching degree. I previously did one year of student teaching at Troy High School, taught for three years at Our Lady of Lourdes High School, and then moved to Spackenkill High School in 2021. I have taught Regents Chemistry, Honors Chemistry, AP Chemistry, Science Research and Environmental General Chemistry.
A goal of my science class is to create a well-structured curriculum that provides all students with a framework of knowledge that will allow them to easily continue their education. Every year I have the amazing opportunity to help every student set goals and work towards accomplishing them. I love getting to know my students and their families--it is the best part of my job. I am looking forward to another school year filled with fun and challenging tasks as we strive to reach our goals.
Best wishes,
Christine Upright
