About AIS

What are Academic Intervention Services (AIS)?Academic Intervention Services are put into place for students who are struggling to achieve the learning standards in English Language Arts and Mathematics in grades K-12. AIS supplements the general curriculum and addresses students' specific learning needs.

Eligibility

Students are eligible to receive Academic Intervention Services based on teacher recommendation, classroom performance, and their test scores on one or more of the following assessments:

• New York State ELA/Math exams

• Fountas and Pinnell Benchmark Assessment System (BAS)/Running Records

• Measures of Academic Progress (MAP)
