AIS
Academic intervention services (AIS) is a support service for students who need additional support in reading, writing, or math. This support upholds the work that is done in students' primary classroom. The work done in AIS targets students' specific learning needs.
Eligibility
Students are eligible to receive Academic Intervention Services based on teacher recommendation, classroom performance, and their test scores on one or more of the following assessments:
New York State ELA/Math/Science exams
Classroom iReady assessments
Aimsweb Plus benchmarks
How AIS works
Students in AIS receive instruction in small groups on skills aligned with the learning standards in English Language Arts and math. AIS is a risk free environment where students are encouraged to take risks in order to grow thier skills.
