Elementary Art Policies and Expectations

Classroom Expectations

Students in elementary art class are expected to:

• Respect all materials, artwork, and classmates

• Listen carefully to instructions and demonstrations

• Participate actively in all art activities

• Clean up their workspace before leaving class

• Use materials responsibly and only as directed

• Stay in their assigned seats unless given permission to move

• Raise their hand to ask questions or request help

• Keep hands, feet, and materials to themselves

Art Room Policies

Materials

• Art supplies are for art class only and should not be taken from the room

• Students must ask permission before using any materials

• Damaged or wasted materials may result in loss of privileges

Safety

• Follow all safety rules when using scissors, glue, and other tools

• Report any spills or accidents immediately

• Wear smocks or old shirts when working with paint or messy materials

Artwork

• All artwork stays in the art room until it is complete

• Students should write their name, grade, and teacher on every project

• Finished work will be sent home or displayed in the school

Behavior

• Students are expected to follow the same school-wide behavior expectations in art class

• Repeated disruptions may result in a loss of art privileges or parent contact
