All students are expected to come to class with a respectful attitude, ready to learn. Appropriate behavior and active participation will ensure success and learning for all students.

WORK TOWARD SUCCESS

SHOW RESPECT AND KINDNESS
- Remember the "Golden Rule"
- Be a good audience.
- Show respect for materials and instruments.
- Show respect for music from other cultures and time periods.
I use a "1-2-3" system to remind students of appropriate behavior. A 1 or 2 serves as a warning, a 3 gives the student a 5 minute time out. Students who repeatedly get 3's will receive a phone call home. Serious offenses may require an immediate office referral and removal from the classroom.
Grade Level Specifics
- When preparing for concerts, students may choose to print out lyrics at home and bring them to class. 4th and 5th grade students may also choose to bring in a folder for their music.
- 3rd grade students are expected to practice recorder for 5 minutes a day, at least 5 days a week. Students are given a practice chart that should be filled out and signed weekly.
