Greetings Soquel Families!
I cant believe we are in the final days of the 2020-2021 school year. What a year it has been! Though it has been a true rollercoaster, there have been so many things to be thankful for! As I look around school each day, I am beyond grateful to have our students back on campus! They seem happy, engaged, and grateful! I wish we had more time to savor these moments before the year is over, but I know we will never forget this year we shared together.
A HUGE thank you to all the families for helping our pickup process become smoother by the day. Please continue to come at the correct pickup time and follow the flow of traffic. We have been improving the wait time each day. It takes a team to make this work, so thank you!
As we plan for the last few weeks of school, I wanted to touch base on a few things:
5th Grade Promotion: We will have two promotion ceremonies this year. Both ceremonies will be held on May 28th. Mr. Foster's class will be at 9:00. Ms. Pitsch and Ms. Voigt will be at 1:30. Both promotions will be held on the field, following all guidelines from the county health office. Due to current occupancy guidelines, we will have limited attendance. The plan if to give each student two tickets. No one will be able to attend without a ticket. If guidelines ease up, we will be able to issue more tickets. Details to follow.
Kindergarten Promotion: The kinder team will be in touch regarding details of promotion week. They have come up with a very creative way to celebrate each student and allow parents to participate (via zoom). Please be on the lookout for these details.
Chromebook Returns: We will begin the process of collecting chromebooks May 21st and 24th. Please make sure you locate the chromebook, charger, and headphones. Beginning on the 21st, we will have a drop off area for chromebooks. It is important we get them in as quickly as possible so our IT team can begin the repair/updating process, in preparation for summer school and next year.
Home and School Club Update: Enjoy this video (Click Here) of our children celebrating movement and being back to school! With your support over the last few months we were able to raise over $22,000 with our Read-a-Thon, Move-a-Thon, and One & Done! Thank you to all of the families that supported our fundraisers, our Board & school staff who organized them, and our teachers who got our kids reading and moving…and most of all, loving being back to school! We are currently accepting nominations for Board positions and voting them in for the 2021-2022 school year soon...Co-President, Co-VP, and Secretary positions are available! This is a great time to join the team with prior members staying on and others retiring, but still at the school to train and support you for next year.

¡Saludos Familias de Soquel!
No puedo creer que estemos en los últimos días del año escolar 2020-2021. ¡Que año ha sido! Aunque ha sido una verdadera montaña rusa, ¡ha habido tantas cosas por las que estar agradecido! ¡Cuando miro alrededor de la escuela todos los días, estoy más que agradecido de tener a nuestros estudiantes de regreso en el campus! ¡Parecen felices, comprometidos y agradecidos! Ojalá tuviéramos más tiempo para saborear estos momentos antes de que termine el año, pero sé que nunca olvidaremos este año que compartimos juntos.
Un ENORME agradecimiento a todas las familias por ayudarnos a que nuestro proceso de recogida sea más sencillo cada día. Continúe llegando a la hora de recogida correcta y siga el flujo del tráfico. Hemos mejorado el tiempo de espera cada día. Se necesita un equipo para que esto funcione, ¡así que gracias!
Mientras planificamos las últimas semanas de clases, quería basarme en algunas cosas:
Promoción de 5to Grado: Tendremos dos ceremonias de promoción este año. Ambas ceremonias se llevarán a cabo el 28 de mayo. La clase del Sr. Foster será a las 9:00. Para la Sra. Pitsch y la Sra. Voigt serán a la 1:30. Ambas promociones se llevarán a cabo en el campo, siguiendo todas las pautas de la oficina de salud del condado. Debido a las pautas de ocupación actuales, tendremos asistencia limitada. El plan es darle a cada estudiante dos boletos. Nadie podrá asistir sin su boleto. Si las pautas se suavizan, podremos emitir más boletos. Detalles a seguir.
Devoluciones de Chromebook: comenzaremos el proceso de recopilación de Chromebooks el 21 y 24 de mayo. Asegúrese de ubicar el Chromebook, el cargador y los auriculares. A partir del día 21, tendremos un área de entrega de Chromebooks. Es importante que los hagamos llegar lo más rápido posible para que nuestro equipo de IT pueda comenzar el proceso de reparación /actualización, en preparación para la escuela de verano y el próximo año.
Actualización del Club del Hogar y la Escuela: ¡Disfrute este video (Haga clic aquí) de nuestros niños celebrando el movimiento y regresando a la escuela! Con su apoyo durante los últimos meses, pudimos recaudar más de $ 22,000 con nuestro Read-a-Thon, Move-a-Thon y One & Done! Gracias a todas las familias que apoyaron nuestras actividades de recaudación de fondos, a nuestro personal de la Junta y de la escuela que las organizaron, y a nuestros maestros que hicieron que nuestros niños leyeran y se movieran ... y, sobre todo, ¡les encantara volver a la escuela! Actualmente estamos aceptando nominaciones para puestos de la Junta y votando para el año escolar 2021-2022 pronto ... ¡Los puestos de co-presidente, co-vicepresidente y secretario están disponibles! Este es un buen momento para unirse al equipo con miembros anteriores que se quedan y otros se retiran, pero aún están en la escuela para capacitarlo y brindarle apoyo para el próximo año.
