My name is Ms. Davis and I'll be your Pre-Algebra teacher this year. You may have heard about me from your older friends, siblings or cousins. This is my seventeenth year teaching and my ninth year teaching here at NBMS. Previously, I taught GED Math at Watsonville Adult School, 6th and 7th grade math at Lakeview Middle School in Watsonville, and 6th grade math in Gilroy at Ascension Solorsano Middle School.

This year you'll be learning many new skills in math class. You'll use your knowledge of fractions, decimals and percents to solve problems using proportions. You will use integers, fractions and decimals to set up, solve and graph equations and inequalities. You'll learn how to calculate the surface area and volume of 3-D figures. We'll calculate probability that certain events will occur. You will get really good at simplifying expressions and combining like terms. All year we'll be focusing on showing our work Algebraically and explaining our thinking in words.
