Expectations

  • In my classroom (in person and via remote learning), I have high expectations for my students. I expect that EVERYBODY (teacher included) works hard every day. I value our time together and want each individual to learn to the best of their ability, which means we all need to put in the work to make it happen!

  • I also believe in the Golden Rule: "Treat others the way you would like to be treated". We are a community of scholars who deserve compassion and acceptance. We treat each other with kindness. We listen to and include others. We are a supportive team who have the same goal in mind, and encouraging others and celebrating our differences will get us that much closer to our goal!

  • We are in math class and we are guaranteed to make mistakes. Mistakes are expected, respected, and encouraged! If you are not making mistakes, you are not learning! They are what help us grow and become successful mathematicians and humans. I will forever see mistakes as awesome learning opportunities to persist through, and you should too.

  • And lastly, I expect that everybody put in their very best effort every single day. You can not grow as a student if you are not trying. Everybody has something to bring to the classroom and we as a class, value all of your different ideas, attempts, mistakes, unique qualities, and effort. I can't wait to learn from each and every one of you!
