Community Celebration

Directions for Community Celebrations Auditions:

1. Choose what you would like to perform. *

2. Practice.

3. Sign up for a time on the board outside of the music room. **

4. Fill out a reminder form.

5. Come to the music room at your audition time.

6. Audition! ****

If you are ready to perform, you will be given a date to perform at the next available Community Celebration.*** Please continue to practice for your performance.

If you are not ready to perform, continue to practice and schedule another audition when you are ready.

* If you are singing a song with recorded music, you must sing with live accompaniment or a karaoke version of the song. All songs/acts must be memorized. If you are dancing, your dance must be choreographed.

** Please do not come to the music room to sign up for an audition when Mrs. Gillin is teaching a class.

***Students who have performed in 1 Community Celebration will be put on a waiting list so that students who have not had the opportunity to perform can be given a chance.

**** Students must perform their community celebration act exactly as it was performed for their audition. If you want to change something, you must re-audition at least 2 weeks prior to your performance date.

All performances for Loring School Community Celebration should be appropriate for a K-5 school and uphold or advance our core values of respect, responsibility, best effort and caring. The music teacher, as coordinator for this event, will screen acts for suitability and will make the final decision as to the appropriateness of the act. To help with this determination, she may consult with other staff members or refer to various professional print or online resources.

In order to maintain the integrity of the audition process, auditions are closed to parents, guardians, relatives and friends. Thank you.
