· Classroom Behavior
Each student should attend class with all class materials including their textbook and homework. Each student will be expected to abide by all school rules and regulations as outlined in Sudan High School Code of Conduct. In addition, each student should show courtesy, respect and consideration to their peers and the instructor. No food is allowed, but drinks with highly secured lids are allowed. Gum is also allowed as long as it does not become a distraction. Personal grooming is not permitted. Each student is expected to put forth their best effort in all class activities, to maintain the highest level of integrity and honesty in their work, and to ask for help when needed.
· Classroom Rules
1. When the bell rings, I expect you to be in your seat, with ALL class materials and ready to learn. If you are not in my room when the bell rings you will be counted tardy and suffer tardy policy consequences.
2. Everyone will be respectful to not only myself but to each and every other student at Sudan High School. There is always a respectful way to behave in every situation. Any disrespectful behavior will be directed to Mr. Martin in the form of detention.
3. No food allowed in my class. Water is the only drink allowed. Gum is allowed if it is not a distraction.
4. If you choose to become a disruption or in any way interfere with other students ability to learn, you will be removed from my class and receive Mr. Martin’s consequences for such behavior.
5. Cell phones must be turned completely off. If this becomes a problem I will take up cell phone every day.
6. Visit the restroom between classes. Do not ask to leave during class.
Classroom Procedures:
1. All work will be handed in on time and appropriate work shown.
1 day late-10 points off
2 days late-25 points off
3rd day- it is a zero and no make up will be allowed.
2. If you are absent from my class it is your responsibility to get with me to get what you missed the day you return from an absence. Saying “I didn’t know we had anything to do because I was absent” is not a valid excuse. I will not hunt you down. You only have one extra day for each absence to get any assignments turned in. Be responsible. You are young adults and I will treat you as such.
Grading Procedures:
1. We will have independent classroom work and homework that will be 25 percent of your grade. IXL will count 10 percent of your grade.
2. Unit Tests(2), Chapter Tests(2), and Projects will count 55 percent. Probably 1 to 2 tests per 6 weeks and one project given during the 3rd week of the six weeks. Tests may be retaken and receive up to a 70. You must take it the next Tuesday morning after you get your grade, and you must come make arrangements with me to retake it. I won’t come looking for you to retake a test and there is a good chance there won’t be time in class to retake it. Therefore, retake unit or chapter tests are your responsibility on your time. Quizzes(1) will be taken after homework is turned in to see if the material was understood. This will tell me if a student is ready to add to that concept.
3. Participation will be taken as 10 percent of your grade. This will consist of at least 2 IXL Recommended Skills or 20 questions for Diagnostic. Bell Ringers will also count as participation.
