• Uso de ZOOM: tenga en cuenta que se utilizará el software ZOOM durante esta reunión. En el siguente enlace se encuentra un tutorial que explica cómo utilizar ZOOM, creado por PREMC. Si no está familiarizado con este software, le recomendamos encarecidamente que realice una prueba antes de la conferencia.

• Identificarse: registre su nombre y apellido como nombre de usuario en ZOOM.

• Haga una pregunta: tenga en cuenta que todos los participantes se silencian automáticamente cuando se unen a la reunión. Para hacer una pregunta durante la sesión de preguntas y respuestas, simplemente levante la mano en ZOOM y luego espere a que el moderador le pida que active su micrófono para que pueda hacer su pregunta. Si tiene problemas técnicos, utilice la mensajería instantánea (botón “chat”) para que el equipo técnico pueda ayudarlo.

• Pruebe su velocidad de Internet: si comparte su conexión a Internet con otras personas en su hogar, pregúnteles si pueden limitar el uso de datos durante su charla. Además, asegúrese de que la audiencia no esté mirando una imagen borrosa o pixelada.

• Elija un lugar tranquilo: asegúrese de estar en un ambiente tranquilo: cierre las ventanas, verifique la acústica de la habitación en la que se encuentra y asegúrese de que no haya ruido de fondo, ladridos de perros, etc.

• Evite las distracciones: evite cualquier objeto que le distraiga a su alrededor y que pueda tener la tentación de tocar o tocar mientras habla con la audiencia, como las llaves.

• Elija el idioma: elija el canal de audio correspondiente al idioma de su elección. Un botón llamado “Traducción simultánea” estará disponible en el menú en la parte inferior de la ventana de ZOOM. Simplemente haga clic en él y elija el idioma. Hay dos opciones disponibles: español e inglés.

*Es necesario descargar la aplicación ZOOM para acceder al servicio de interpretación (no disponible desde el navegador). Descargue la aplicación antes de la conferencia y asegúrese de tener la última actualización.*

• Configura tu cámara: el mejor ángulo para capturar tu rostro es al nivel de los ojos o un poco más alto. Si es necesario, agregue algunos libros debajo de su computadora para alcanzar la altura adecuada. Debes acercarte a la cámara, pero no demasiado. La cámara debe enmarcar su rostro, cuello y hombros. También debes pararte en el centro del marco.

• Tenga en cuenta la iluminación: lo ideal es iluminar su rostro y oscurecer el espacio detrás de usted; la fuente de luz debe estar frente a usted. Se recomienda encarecidamente la luz natural.

• Ordena tu espacio: si estás en casa, ordena el espacio detrás de ti y asegúrate de minimizar las distracciones para tu audiencia.

• Use of zoom: consider that the software ZOOM will be used for this session. In the following link you will find a tutorial created by PREMC, which explains how to use ZOOM. If you are not familiar with this software, it is strongly recommended to do a trial run before the conference.

• Log in: register your first and last name as a username in zoom.

• Make a question: consider that all members will be automatically silenced once they enter the reunion. To ask a question during the Q&A session, use the “raise hand'' button in ZOOM and wait for the presenter to ask you to turn on your microphone, so you can ask your question. If you have technical difficulties, use the “instant chat” (chat button) section, so the technical team can help you out.

• Test your internet speed: if you share your internet connection with other people, ask them to limit their use of data while you are presenting. Do not forget to make sure the audience can clearly see the images you are projecting during your presentation.

• Choose a quiet place: make sure you are in a quiet place during the session: close windows, check the acoustics of the room you are in, try to cancel any background noise, such as barking dogs, traffic noises, etc.

• Avoid distractions: avoid any object from your surroundings that could distract you and/or make you fidget. Example: keys, keychains, pens, pencils, etc.

• Choose the language: choose your audio channel corresponding to the language of your choice. There will be a button called “simultaneous interpreting” located at the bottom of the ZOOM window. Just click on it and choose the language. There are two options: English and Spanish.

It is necessary to download the Zoom app to have access to the simultaneous interpreting service. This option is NOT available on the browser.

• Set your camera: the best angle to show your face is achieved by placing your camera at eye level, or a little bit higher. If needed, place some books as a base for your laptop to reach the adequate level. You should not be too close nor too far from the camera. The camera must frame your face, neck, and shoulders. You should also place yourself right in the middle of the frame.

• Check your lighting: ideally, the face should be highlighted, while the background should be darkened. The source of lighting must be facing you. It is highly recommended to use natural lighting.

• Clean your space: if you are at home, clean the space right behind you and make sure to remove any thing that could distract your audience.
