DO IT FOR JAMES
Tim and Tamia Woods from the Do It For James Foundation delivered powerful presentations to students and parents on April 29. They shared the story of their son James, who died by suicide at age 17 after he became a victim of sextortion. Tim and Tamia believe that the best way to counter this very prevalent crime and prevent tragedy is COMMUNICATION. They encourage students and parents to talk to each other about sextortion, and if they encounter online predators, BLOCK and REPORT the sender, but do not delete the profile or messages. They gave each student and parent a card with a list of resources they can contact to report this crime. These resources are available on the Do It For James Foundation website (www.letsdifj.org), along with links to educational, age-appropriate videos for students and families to watch.
Adoration begins at 6:30 p.m. at St. Vincent de Paul Church | 164 W. Market Street. All high school youth, 7th and 8th graders, are welcome. Families are also encouraged to attend.
