Beginning in August, Anne Jorgensen is moving over to support the Academics team. She will become the building substitute teacher and continue to support our student athletes who are looking to play at the collegiate level, and navigate the NCAA Clearinghouse. We thank Anne for her years of hard work and dedication on the Advancement Team!
We also want to share that Campus Ministry is expanding! A part-time assistant role has just been posted on STVM's Employment page. We are also looking for a part-time Spirit Shop and Bookstore Manager. Check out the job postings here.
Mr. Scott Beigie will be joining the team as a member of the Theology Department. Scott, his wife Abbey, and their two children are members of St. Hilary Parish. Scott holds degrees in Business, Theology, and Counseling. He is currently working on a Doctorate of Education (2026) from Youngstown State University. Scott is a graduate of Walsh Jesuit, John Carroll University, and Loyola University. Scott has served as a high school counselor, football coach, Theology teacher, small business owner, and adjunct professor. " My personal and professional life has been formed by the Catholic Church’s principles taught and modeled by the wonderful clergy, teachers, coaches, and administrators that I have encountered throughout my life. It is my hope and desire to share my love of Jesus and the Catholic church with the students at STVM; to bring them to a deeper relationship and understanding of God's work in their lives." Scott reflects.
Ms. Jenny Walls will be bringing her expertise to our Math Department. Jenny recently retired from Akron Public Schools, where she served for 34 years as an honored math teacher and District math coach. Additionally, Jenny serves on the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce's Mathematical Modeling and Reasoning course writing team and teacher training team, and has also served on both the Standards Writing Team and the Model Curriculum Writing Team. She holds a Master of Arts, Secondary Education and a Bachelor of Arts, Mathematics Education from the University of Akron. Jenny states, "I passionately believe that all students deserve equitable access to all levels of mathematics by learning conceptually through inquiry, discourse, application, and collaboration. By focusing on rigor, relevance, and relationships, I can help students build their math skills while also building their confidence in their abilities."
Dr. Nadia Sahely is joining the World Language Department, building our French program. Nadia has been serving as the Department Chair and teaching French at Baldwin Wallace College since 2003. Nadia has studied abroad and holds both an M.A. and Ph. D in French Studies from Brown University. While the college setting has been Nadia's most recent focus, she has experience at the secondary level as well. Nadia shares, "My pedagogical approach has a focus on the process of learning and discovery. I strive to cultivate in all of my students curiosity and a global worldview, a rich repertoire of cultural knowledge and communication skills, and a keen sense of empathy."

We are excited to announce that STVM has recently joined the NextGrad College Opportunity Network. NextGrad is a family-owned ed-tech business headquartered in Salt Lake City, Utah. They have provided STVM with a digital screen that contains information for our students about their higher education options within our state and regionally. NextGrad empowers you, our students, to continue your education beyond high school by introducing you to institutions, programs, and opportunities that you may not know existed.
It will also showcase information from the College and Career Counselor regarding college application and financial aid events, college representative visits, local scholarships, and other college and career resources.
Additionally, NextGrad gives back to our school annually through their scholarship foundation. NextGrad has paid back over $600,000 to partner high schools in their network.
We encourage you to check out our NextGrad screen in the Student Center. Please note - it is not a touchscreen. Various ads will automatically scroll through the screen.
Student schedules for the 2025-26 school year will be available at the beginning of August. There will be a window prior to the start of the school year to request a schedule change.
The 2025-26 Student Ambassadors met for a leadership workshop and training this past week and will be responsible for attending several events over the summer. Please mark your calendars for the mandatory events listed below. Students should regularly check their school email for details on events and stay tuned to the Ambassadors GroupMe app for reminders.
