BENEFIT CONCERT: AUGUST 9
Ed Sutter, a 1981 STVM alum, is proud to announce that the Four Leaf Clover Foundation has selected Emma as their Adopted Fighter for the 6th Annual Rock Cancer Concert on August 9, 2025 in Downtown Barberton from 7-10:30 PM, with100% percent of the proceeds from this year's event going to Emma’s needs. It’s an amazing night in the heart of Magic City, and we hope many of you plan to attend and pack West Tuscarawas Street. The concert features Paradise - The Meat Loaf Tribute.
GIFT CARD TREE
I also ask that you consider joining me to put together a gift card tree for Emma and her mom as Emma deals with challenging chemotherapy and many hospital stays this summer. They are up for any food places (except seafood places), and Giant Eagle is where they shop for groceries. If you would like to donate a gift card, please either mail attention Mrs. Goshe to the school or drop them off at the office in envelope marked Mrs. Goshe for Emma Bryant, during office hours Mon. - Thurs. (9:00am - 3:00pm). Thank you in advance for your generosity.

2025-26 School Year Theme: Verso l'alto! This means: "To the Heights" or "To the Top." This theme is based on the life and faith of Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati, who will be canonized with Blessed Carlo Acutis on September 7, 2025. I will be sharing more about this theme in future communications.
I have kept the list of links of places around the Akron area to complete service in the summer, If any of the links don't work, please let me know. Campus Ministry hopes to host some service days at different places throughout the summer. The Diocese of Cleveland's, The FEST, is also looking for volunteers. If you might be interested in volunteering or going to the Fest and attending a dinner with Bishop Malesic, please email me.
Let us ask our Blessed Mother to wrap her mantle of care and protection around our STVM family as we are in these summer months, to keep all of us healthy and safe. Please know of my unceasing prayers for each of you. If you need anything over the summer, please don't hesitate to reach out at 330-253-9113 ext. 118 or jgoshe@stvm.com
In His Sacred Heart,
Mrs. Goshe
Volunteers are needed for the The FEST, Sunday, August 3rd, but also the week leading up to it, where help is needed assembling snow fence, packing Mom's bags, setting up tables and chairs, and more.
The dates we need help setting up for the event are July 28th-August 2nd. On each day, Mass and meals will be provided. It's a very fun and easy way to get involved in the Diocese and grow closer to God and others.
If you would like to help and we can put a group together or your team or club would like to volunteer together, please email Mrs. Goshe ASAP.
July 19th, August 1st, and August 2nd are the days we need the most help, but help on any day during that week is appreciated. We also need help on the day of the FEST, August 3rd.
Here are links to several service locations in the Akron area to begin to serve:
Queen of Heaven Parish Labre Ministry (Green, OH)
A heartfelt thank you to all who donated to the meal ministry this year for our Marianist LIFE meetings! The student have truly enjoyed this part of our gatherings and your support is so very appreciated. Be on the lookout for an invitation when meetings resume at the beginning of next school year. We always need volunteers to plan, set up/clean up and donate items for our meals. Everyone is welcome to get involved. Please email Barbara McKnight at mcknighteb@windstream.net to join next year's group, be put on the SignUp mailing list or if you have any questions.
Jude's Reflection on Mission Trip
I had an incredible experience on the STVM mission trip to El Salvador. I really enjoyed having the opportunity to meet the amazing people of El Salvador and share the gospel with them. The trip had a very profound impact on me because it showed me what it is like to be the hands and feet of Jesus as well as what it means to love God by loving others. This trip was also a great way for me to get to know some of my classmates better and grow in my faith with them. I would like to thank everyone who contributed to this trip for creating such a beautiful mission experience. I hope that I can return to El Salvador in the future and continue to serve others as Jesus would.
MARIANIST MOMENT
Marianists believe that Mary is the perfect model of discipleship. She shows us how to love, trust, and follow Jesus better than any other human being. She also encourages us to "Do whatever He tells you." John 2:5
To learn more about the Marianist Family, please check out their latest Family magazine here.
It is important to understand why we, as Catholics, hold Mary in high esteem, call her our Mother, and ask for her intercession. This short video with Fr. Mike Schmitz gives a good introduction and explanation to help us to understand our relationship with Mary.
Here is a link to other resources about Mary, how to pray with Mary, Marian Feast days, and activities to celebrate Mary.
We invite and encourage you to download the Marianist App for lots of great resources and information.
This article will also help you get to know Blessed William Joseph Chaminade better.
We have been blessed with a donor who has made it possible for us to have the Hallow App for Schools.
