We had a beautiful Marianist LIFE Night this week, Gardening the Soul! It is always so incredible to watch our LIFE Leaders share and lead their peers in faith during these nights.

While there are so many activities during the month of May, I hope that all will join on us Wednesday, May 13, for our last Marianist LIFE Night of the school year. This will be a night of Adoration, Praise, and Worship, with alum, Ella Weiss, leading us in worship and Fr. Jeffrey Lindholm as our presider. All high schoolers and 7th & 8th graders from any school are welcome to attend! See the flyer for all the details.

Service Hours Due Soon! ALL hours are due for all Juniors, Sophomores, and Freshmen by May 1st!

Any rising junior, who is an active Roman Catholic, attends Mass each weekend, and is Confirmed, can discern if they would like to become an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion. In order to do this, you much complete this application and attend one of the diocesan training programs. If interested, please print and complete the application or visit Mrs. Goshe for more information.

Alleluia!! He is Risen! Happy Easter!! What a gift that the Church allows us 50 days to celebrate and sit in the joy of the Resurrection! Here is a resource to help you celebrate the 50 days of Easter!

Marianist LIFE Night!

Join us for our next Marianist LIFE Night on Wednesday, May 13th! Spend an evening in Adoration with Praise and Worship led by STVM alum Ella Weiss (VM ’25), with Fr. Jeffrey Lindholm as presider.

Adoration will take place from 6:30–7:30pm at St. Vincent de Paul Church. All are welcome—high school students, 7th/8th graders, and families! Stay afterwards for snacks and fellowship at STVM across the street.

If you enjoyed having Fr. Damian Ference celebrate Mass with us, you might enjoy listening to his podcast, Catholic Pore Over! Hosted by Fr. Marianist LIFE Meal Ministry

Thank you to all who helped and donated for the April Marianist LIFE Night! The students continue to love this tradition of starting our gatherings with a meal together. Next month, we will serve desserts after Adoration. Please look for a SignUp next week.

We always welcome new volunteers for the Marianist LIFE Meal Ministry! Each month, a group of parents puts together a meal for the students to enjoy before their meeting. Here's a great article in the Marianist publication Alive, about how the brothers provide meals and fellowship to students at Marianist-sponsored universities, including the popular spaghetti dinners at the University of Dayton. Our meal ministry here at STVM is similar in spirit!

Marianist LIFE Night: GArdening your soul

Our recent Marianist LIFE Night, Growing Your Soul, was a meaningful night centered on how we can nurture our relationship with God. Through reflecting on Scripture - the Parable of the Sower, we talked about the importance of cultivating good “soil” in our lives—rooted in virtue, prayer, and openness to God’s word. Students also had the chance to decorate mini pots and plant their own flowers, creating a tangible reminder to care for and nourish their souls just as they will their plants. It was a joyful night of fellowship, creativity, and growing closer to God and one another.

Extraordinary Jubilee Year of St. Francis

Pope Leo XIV has announced back-to-back jubilees! The Extraordinary Jubilee Year of St. Francis of Assisi, marking 800 years since his death, runs from January 10, 2026, to January 10, 2027. During this time, the faithful have the opportunity to obtain plenary indulgences (a special grace of God’s mercy) under the usual conditions - Sacramental Confession, detachment from sin, Eucharist, and prayer for the intentions of the pope - by making a pilgrimage to any Franciscan conventual church or place of worship dedicated to St. Francis anywhere in the world.

Our diocesan webpage for the year of St. Francis is live. Please invite youth and young adults to download their passport and make pilgrimage to the nine sites!

Scouting America

Lent Duty to God Program

Due: May 24 - Pentecost! This program is for ALL Scouts of any Christian faith tradition. The point of the program is simple: Go to church!

To earn, Scouts go to liturgy seven times (any time, not just Sundays) throughout Lent and write about their experience. This means Ash Wednesday, Holy Thursday, Good Friday, Easter Vigil, even Tenebrae. Many Protestant faiths regularly meet on Wednesday as well. Check out the flyer and report template for more info. Podcast of Bishop's Pastoral Letter

Have you had a chance to read Bishop Edward Malesic’s first pastoral letter, “A Flourishing Apostolic Church?” If not, you can listen to it as a podcast by clicking HERE. Six episodes, ranging in length from just over nine to 15½ minutes, were recorded by the bishop. The document, released in December 2024, encourages the faithful of the Diocese of Cleveland to spend at least 15 minutes daily in prayer, to worship/celebrate the sacraments and to serve those in need.
