for the Weeks of March 16th-27th

1.   received- to take or get something that is sent or given 

Example sentence: I received a beautiful birthday card from my grandmother.

2. account- a record of money received or spent 

      Example sentence: My mom and dad save money for vacations in a special bank account.

3. budget- a plan for how money will be spent 

      Example sentences: Our school has a budget for field trips. (noun)                

                                                   Our parents budget $50 a month for movie nights. (verb)

4. disappointed- to let down hopes or wishes 

       Example sentence: My friend Michael was disappointed that the ball game was rained out.   

5. chuckled- to laugh quietly

  Example sentence: We chuckled when the puppy ate Jack's hotdog.

6. staring- to look with a steady, often wide-eyed gaze

        Example sentence: The cat was staring at the fish swimming in the fishtank.
