December 15 - 19
Christmas Activities!
We will continue our Christmas activities this week! We will continue to practice for our Christmas Mini-Concert on Thursday. We will participate in a Christmas Card Exchange & a class Gift Game, as we focus on the JOY Advent candle. We will learn about the JOY in giving to others. In Math we will sequence numbers 0-10. We will explore more Christmas books and learn about candy canes. It will be a fun-filled exciting week, ending with an Early Dismissal on December 19th. MERRY CHRISTMAS !!!
December 8 - 12
Star Student: Maren
We will be preparing for our Mini-Christmas Concert, and making Christmas crafts this week. We will read Christmas books, and review letters and sounds. We will practice writing our first name correctly. In Math we will be creating number lines using paint sticks. We will focus on the characters, setting, problem and solution in "The Gingerbread Man". Our "Seeds" Lessons continue to prepare us for the birth of Jesus. We will learn about animals and what they need in Science, and ways we are each special in Social Studies. It will be a fun week of learning! I hear Sparkles the Elf left our class a Snowball Game to play!

We had an awesome time with our Grandparents! We made a craft, read books, and played a turkey game with dice. We also learned about a"cornucopia", and created an edible one with Bugles Corn Chips, vanilla icing, and Trix Cereal. Yum! We created turkey handprints, and learned about turkeys. We made turkey hats and a turkey face mask. We are excited and thankful to celebrate Thanksgiving with our families!

Happy Thanksgiving!!!
We will be practicing our song for Grandparent's Day! We will read the story,"There Was An Old Lady That Swallowed A Turkey!". We will be making a turkey craft and hat, along with a turkey mask. We are also making a Turkey Handprint keepsake! We are SO excited to welcome our Grandparents on Tuesday! We will continue practicing writing our name, counting 0-10, and writing 0-10. We are learning about "Advent" in Religion, and magnets in Science. We are thankful for all God has given us!

We had a wonderful week of learning & exploring! We studied Creation and all the beautiful things God has made. Daniel and Arianna celebrated their birthdays. We learned about sound, and we each listened to our voice through a sound instrument . We are preparing for Thanksgiving and Grandparent's Day! It is an exciting time of year ,as we approach the Advent Season beginning on November 30th!

The class had a great week exploring this beautiful Autumn season! We went on a leaf hunt, explored leaf rubbing, and sorted leaves. We learned the letter and sound for "Xx", and the number 10. We learned that Jesus loved going to the Temple, and studied the life of Saint Francis. The class is preparing for Grandparent's Day --we are practicing a song we will sing when they visit on Tuesday, November 25th.

The class LOVED the Costume Parade & dressing up for Halloween! We participated in a Candy Corn Investigation ,and enjoyed Halloween Bingo. We listened to "Stellaluna" and made bats. WE learned about bats & echolocation. We practiced the Sign of the Cross, learned about Saints, and learned about "All Saints Day". We had a wonderful week!

The class loved our field trip to Gaver Farm! We wrote a story in class about the trip, and what we liked at the farm. Pre-K Hope and Pre-K Faith both enjoyed a Fall Scavenger Hunt this week! Students found many Autumn objects on the list, and checked them off...they were squealing with excitement! We sprayed a spider web to show them the intricate details. We reviewed the letters & sounds learned so far, practiced writing our first names, and counted from 1-8. The week ended with an awesome School Assembly honoring our Children of God, and celebrating student accomplishments!
Week 9: October 20 - 24

SCIENCE: Fall Scavenger Hunt & Nature Walk, Winter: Animals Hibernate
The class enjoyed using our 5 senses to explore a pumpkin, and draw our observations. We created paper 3-D volcanoes, and practiced writing upper and lowercase "Vv". We counted pumpkin seeds, and practiced our cutting skills with scissors. We also learned the 5-finger prayer, and prayed for others. We are very excited to travel on a bus to our Gaver Farm Field Trip this week! Thank you to all that are able to go on Tuesday, October 21st!

The class really enjoyed visiting our SUS "Harvest Festival" this week! Thank you to every Parent & Grandparent that was able to come and spend that special time with your Pre-K student. We had a blast enjoying our Pumpkin Volcano experiment! We are learning the "5 Senses" song...many students say please play it again! We are also learning the Hopscotch "Numbers" song, and students are learning how to spell the "number words" as they form the numbers in the air! I'm so proud of our class!We learned about the 10 lepers this week, and how important it is to be grateful & say THANK YOU! I hope your children said a special "thank you" to you this week for ALL you do! Looking forward to seeing everyone at Conferences on October 17th. Thank you for 100% participation!

The class is doing a wonderful job gaining confidence and independence packing and unpacking daily! We will be working on fine motor skills and pencil grip this week. A highlight of the Autumn season in my class is our "Pumpkin Volcano" experiment! We will enjoy going to the Harvest Festival on Thursday. We will be learning the letter and sound for "Tt" this week. We will continue our
"Seeds" lessons, and learn that Jesus is our friend! It will be an exciting week in Pre-K !!!

We are continuing to practice our routines and classroom procedures. The students are doing a great job! We have received many compliments on our good behavior walking in a straight, quiet line in the hallways!We also pick a "lucky duck" each day...the lucky duck is rewarded at the end of the day if they made good choices. : ) We are reviewing our letters & sounds, learning the parts of a book, learning the characters in a story, and working on our fine motor skills. We are continuing our SEEDS lessons, and growing in our faith. We will meet our Fourth Grade Prayer Partners this week!

We will continue to learn routines and procedures in our classroom. We will practice tracing our first names, and continue working on tracing and cutting skills. The first "Pizza" Hot Lunch is this week, as well as a Dollar Day and School Wide Spirit Assembly. The students are creating friendships and learning to share. I will start to use "Task Boxes" in the classroom to refine fine motor skills. Ask your child about "Peaceful Pumpkin"! : )

The students are enjoying our Specials, going to eat in the LunchRoom, and playing outside. Almost every student falls asleep during our daily Rest Time. It is fun to learn and make friends as we learn to follow Jesus here at SUS !!!

We will continue to learn school rules and celebrate kindness and good choices in our classroom.

We will find our name at the table, and find our cubby. We will practice unpacking, walking quietly in a straight line in the hall, and learn our Circle Time song. We will pray & eat our snack. We will listen to stories about starting preschool and "The Kissing Hand".
