REMINDER Holiday Candy Grams Due Monday

The Student Council will be selling candy grams again this year. Each page costs $1.00 (for one candy gram, $0.25). Please include the recipient's full name and homeroom on the sheet for sorting purposes. Please have them cut out and turned into your homeroom teacher by Monday, December 15th. To help keep all our students and staff healthy, please follow these handbook guidelines when deciding whether to send your child to school:

Fever: If your child has a temperature of 100°F or greater, they must stay home until they have been fever-free for 24 hours without fever-reducing medication.
Vomiting: If your child has vomited within 24 hours of the school day, they must remain home.
Diarrhea: If your child experiences diarrhea, they must stay home until they have been symptom-free for 24 hours.

Monday Things to Know:

Week of December 15th- December 19th:

Reading: We will spend the week reading fun Christmas Books; "Turkey Claus," "Mooseltoe", and "Click, Clack, Ho, Ho, Ho." We will work on our beginning and ending sounds. We will work on sounding out CVC words.

Sight words: I, like, the, and, see, we, a, to, come, me, with, my

Math: We will finish Unit 6: Shapes. We will finish up talking about 3d shapes; cone, cylinder, sphere, cube, and rectangluar prism. We will spend the week reviewing 2D and 3D shapes.

Handwriting: We will be working on our FIRST names Kindergarten style. A capital letter at the beginning of our name and the rest lowercase. (ie. Deirdre).

Religion: Students will recognize that Jesus is coming and we get ready. We will light the 3rd candle on the Advent wreath that stands for Joy. We will identify Advent and Christmas as times in the Church Year. We will attend Christmas Mass on Tuesday! We will learn the Christmas Story; Mary & Jospeh going back to Bethlehem and baby Jesus being born in a stable.

Social Studies: We will reflect on the Christmas celebrations and traditions we share with family and friends. We will recognize that Christmas is celebrated in different ways around the world. We will travel to Mexico and learn about Las Posadas. We will travel to Italy and learn about La Befana. We will end our traveling back in the USA learning about Hanukkah.
