Week of November 10th-November 14th:
Reading: We will continue on unit 2: Lesson 9: Machines and Wheels. We will listen to the story, "Good Morning Digger," in order to understand a characters (Trucks) and setting. We will listen to the story, "What Do Wheels Do All Day?," in order to understand text and graphic features along with conclusions. We will use our student readers to read, "Pp," and "I like animals." We will learn our new sight word; to. We will use our sight words to write the sentence, " I like to ______." We will recognize, write, and learn the beginning sound of the letter Pp- Pippa Pig. We will learn about Abjectives; number words. We will continue to review action verbs and Nouns for People, Places & things. We will continue to review our Rhyming skills, Syllables, print concept skills and sensory words.Â
Sight words: I, like, the, and, see, we, a, to,Â
Math: We will start unit 6: Numbers 10-19. : Students will learn to name, recognize, count, and write numbers 10-19. We will understand that teen numbers are ten and some more. Students will be able to understand that “some more” means the zero is hiding. We will be able to show teen numbers on a set of two ten frames. Â
Handwriting: We will be working on our FIRST names Kindergarten style. A capital letter at the beginning of our name and the rest lowercase. (ie. Deirdre). Â
Religion:Â Students will attend Mass in the gym on Tuesday! We will learn that Jesus helps us with our fears and worries. We will listen to the story, "Lost at the Mall!" We will listen to the Gospel, "Jesus says not to Worry."Â
Social Studies:  We will continue on our unit on Then & Now. We will learn about Life Long Ago! We will tell the difference between the past, present, and future. We will explain how kids had fun long ago. We can explain how people cooked food long ago. We can talk about chores that kids had long ago. We can explain jobs that people had long ago. We can tell what school was like long ago.Â
