To help keep all our students and staff healthy, please follow these handbook guidelines when deciding whether to send your child to school:
Fever: If your child has a temperature of 100°F or greater, they must stay home until they have been fever-free for 24 hours without fever-reducing medication.
Vomiting: If your child has vomited within 24 hours of the school day, they must remain home.
Diarrhea: If your child experiences diarrhea, they must stay home until they have been symptom-free for 24 hours.

Reading: We will start unit 6: Lesson 27: Family Outings! We will listen to the story, "Someone Bigger," in order to sequence the story. We will also read, "One of Three," in order to compare and contrast characters. We will identify characters, setting, key details and author's purpose from the stories. We will use our book handling skills in order to read "Win a Cup!" and "Was Can Help," in our student readers in small groups. We will use clues from the pictures to help me read and we will sequence the story after we read in small groups. We will learn, identify, write and read all 6 new sight words from the week; ask, every, have, help, one & walk. We will use our sight words to write/read them in sentences. We will recognize, write, and learn the beginning sound of the letters:Ll- Larry Lion. We will continue reviewing rhyming, initial, ending and middle sounds, and parts of a word with Heggerty. Â

Math: We will continue on unit 14: Time to the hour. Students will gain and understanding of days, months, and time to the hour. I will be able to tell time to the hour. We will draw an hour and minute hand on clocks to show different o'clocks. We will match a digital time to the correct clock. We will continue to review our addition and subtraction fluency.Â
Handwriting: We will be working on our FIRST & LAST names Kindergarten style. A capital letter at the beginning of our name and the rest lowercase. (ie. Deirdre Callinan). Â
Religion: We will learn that the Holy Spirit helps us share the Good News. We will recognize that God sends helpers to assist us when we feel worried or afraid. We will identify the Holy Spirit as our helper and guide. We will learn that we can go out to bring Jesus Good News to their friends and families.Â
Social Studies: Â We willcontinue on our Map Unit. We can tell what map symbols are. We can make a map of our town. We can explain what a globe is. We can compare and contrast globes and maps. We can tell what a continent is and identify continents on a map or globe. We can tell what an ocean is and identify oceans on a map or globe.Â
