Week of October 13th- October 17th:
Reading: We will finish up Unit 1 and we will take our Unit 1 Reading Test Thursday! Lesson 5: Helping. We will listen to the story, "The Little Red Hen," in order to sequence the story. We will listen to informational text, "The Handiest Things in the World," in order to learn about details from a story. We will use our student readers to read, "Ss," and "I like Ss." We will review our sight words; I, like, the, and. We will use our sight words to write the sentences. We will recognize, write, and learn the beginning sound of the letter Ss. We review our action verbs. We will review Nouns for People, Places & things. We will review our Rhyming skills, Syllables, and print concept skills.Â
Sight words: I, like, the, and
Math: We will start unit 4: numbers 1-10. Students will count sets of objects and match the numerals to the set. We will identify and write the missing number in a line. We will compare sets in order to find more and less. We will continue to write our numbers 1-10.Â
Handwriting: We will be working on our FIRST names Kindergarten style. A capital letter at the beginning of our name and the rest lowercase. (ie. Deirdre). Â
Religion: Students will recognize what they need and who answers their needs. We will listen to the Gospel, “The Woman Who Kept Asking.” We will recognize hears and answers our prayers. We will identify that God wants us to keep asking for what we need. We will create Prayer booklets.
Social Studies:  We will start our unit on Community Helpers. We can explain different kinds of neighborhoods and different kinds of homes. We can explain that our neighborhood is made up of different kinds of families. We can describe different places in a community. We can describe different places in a community.Â
