Tuesday, January 28th will be a Student Appreciation Lunch. In honor of this day we will be providing a FREE hot dog and a bag of regular potato chips for lunch. NEW Parent Visitation
Parents are invited to visit their students in the classroom on Wednesday, January 29th from 8:30 - 10:30 a.m. Please park on the St. Ursula School lot, the back half of St. John's Lot, or the St. Ursula Church lot, leaving spaces by the Parish Office open.
For parent visitation day, all parents/visitors will need to enter school through the playground doors to receive an identification badge before visiting any classrooms. If you have previously visited the school and have had your ID scanned, please complete this form by Friday, January 24th so we can send home a badge with your child: https://forms.gle/retr2diHAzXNf4rU9
Parents/guardians who have not visited the school are encouraged to stop in before Catholic Schools Week and have their ID scanned to expedite the check-in process the day of.

NEW Inclement Weather Policy
Please be reminded that on inclement weather days Saint Ursula School follows the Baltimore County Public School decision including cancellation of all after school activities. You may also receive notification from our school email and text system. Please do not call the school or Parish office about school closings. Please see your email or the Student Handbook for more details.
Monday Things to Know:Â
Week of Jan. 13th- Jan. 17th:
Reading: We will continue on unit 3: lesson 14, "Animal Homes" in our reading series. We will read the story, "Home for Tiger, Home for Bear," & "Turtle Splash!," in order to understand author's purpose. We will learn two new sight word; are, now. We will read our sight words in sentences. We will write our sight words into a sentence, "______." We will use our book handling skills in order to read,"What Now" & "At Bat." We will review our alphafriend Bb- Benny Bear. We will learn the sound and items that begin with the letter sound Bb. We will continue to recognize, produce and identify rhymes. We will continue to work on beginning sounds and sounding out CVC words; ie. C-A-T
Sight words: I, like, the, and, see, we, a, to, come, me, with, my, you, what, are, now
Math: We will start unit 8: Numbers to 100. Students will explore numbers up to 100 and learn how to skip-count by 2’s, 5’s, and 10’s. Students will be able to count to 100 by 1’s and 10’s. Students will be able to count to 20 by 2’s and have an understanding of pairs. Students will be able to count to 20 by 5’s. We will review our teen numbers, 2D shapes and 3D shapes as well. We will work on writing our numbers to 100.Â
Handwriting: We will be working on our FIRST and LAST names Kindergarten style. A capital letter at the beginning of our name and the rest lowercase. (ie. Deirdre Callinan). Â
Religion: We will recognize the promises and symbols of Matrimony. We will identify that Jesus' first miracle helped a married couple. We will listen to the Gospel," Jesus at the wedding in Cana-turning water into wine." We will recognize that we should do as Jesus says.Â
Social Studies: We will continue on the unit: Seasons & Weather. We will be able to explain what weather is. We can name and describe different kinds of weather. We can explain how the sun affects Earth. We can explain ways that weather affects our lives. We can name and describe different types of severe weather. We can explain how to stay safe during severe weather. We can name and describe the different seasons.Â
