Math- Complete p. 40 and #'s 14and 15 on p. 39 in SUS folder. Return to school tomorrow./Practice 10 more/ten less. Give your child a random number, ask for 10 more than that number and 10 less than that number. They may use a number chart if needed. They should not be counting in their fingers, The skill is to look at the tens column and answer based on that number.
When practicing flashcards, students should place the big number in their heads and count back or on to get the answer. This is an important skill that they will need going forward.

Reading~. Read new vocab for Seasons 3x each out loud to a grown up. Read: Book # 90('s) out loud to a grown up. Return to school tomorrow./ Read for your January book project.
** This week's fluency skill is RATE. Students should be practicing adjusting their reading rate/speed depending on what they are reading. Sometimes it's necessary to read more slowly, like if you are searching for information. If reading too quickly effects comprehension, it may be necessary to slow down to improve retention of information. Parents, listen for this skill as your children read their own books to you for the book projects.
