Reading~. Read vocab for How Leopard Got His Spots 3x each and dec words in col(s) 1-6 out loud to a grown up. Read: Chelsea the Chimp out loud to a grown up, as well as the vocab words on the page. Read and answer the questions at the bottom in COMPLETE sentences. Students should read independently and write the answers themselves. Return to school tomorrow./ Read for your January book project.
** This week's fluency skill is RATE. Students should be practicing adjusting their reading rate/speed depending on what they are reading. Sometimes it's necessary to read more slowly, like if you are searching for information. If reading too quickly effects comprehension, it may be necessary to slow down to improve retention of information. Parents, listen for this skill as your children read their own books to you for the book projects.
