Welcome to the 4 Faith Website!
This is where you will find updates about our classroom. There are tabs for each subject that will have the daily homework and updates about tests, quizzes, and projects. Please note that the Math and ELA tab will be for my class. You will need to look at your student's teachers for those classes to see their homework/updates. On the homepage, there will be updates posted about administrative updates and messages from the school.
Week 4/22 Recap:
Here are a couple of reminders as we wrap up the week:
On Monday, April 29, we will continue MAP testing for the Spring. Please make sure students are coming to school with a charged chromebooks.
Our Science project is due on Thursday, May 2nd. Please reference the rubric and directions in the Science tab on this website. Please let me know if you have any questions!
Friday, May 3rd is Field Day! Please refer to the What's Ahead Wednesday for details regarding the half day. If you have not submitted the permission slip, that is due Monday, April 29th. If you student is unable to attend, please email me.

MAP Testing
Tomorrow students will have the Language Arts MAP test. Please make sure chromebooks are charged tonight!
Field Trip
The school will be sending out an email regarding our field trip when all details are finalized. For planning purposes, our field trip is on May 28th to Annapolis.
Field Day
An email from the school was sent this afternoon regarding field day. Please fill out the permission slip as soon as possible and return to school. T-Shirts will be sent home this week with your students.
Week 4/15 Recap:
Here are a couple of reminders as we wrap up the week:
On Tuesday, April 23, we will start MAP testing for the Spring. Please make sure students are coming to school with a charged chromebooks.
Wednesday, April 24 will be a half day schedule with dismissal starting at 12:00 pm.
Friday, April 26 will be Race for Education day! Please read through the information from the What's Ahead Wednesday below:
Participants can be out of uniform – Shorts, of an appropriate length are permitted this year and please wear tennis shoes. However, please be mindful of the weather when making a decision about dress.
Water bottles are allowed. Please send a water bottle marked with your child’s name so that he/she can take it outside while he/she runs.
As long as we are outside, parents are invited to come and watch. Please park in the church lot, but leave at least 5-6 spaces open near the church office for the office staff and visitors. If there is precipitation, the decision may be made to hold activities in the gym. If this is the case, there will not be room for parents to attend. Only those previously scheduled to work will be allowed in the building.
Pizza Lunch - All students will have a pizza lunch on Friday, April 26th to thank everyone for their participation in this year's Race for Education.
Thank you for sending in the Field Day shirts! Once they are tie-dyed by our volunteer, they will be sent home. Please note Field Day is Friday, May 3rd.
Please make sure students are coming to school everyday in proper uniform. Refer to the student handbook for any questions regarding the guidelines for Spring uniform.

Week 4/8 Recap:
Here are a couple of reminders as we wrap up the week:
Spring uniform starts this Monday, April 15. Please refer to the student handbook for any questions regarding the guidelines for Spring uniform.
On Monday, April 15, we will have an Orioles uniform add-on. Students are invited to add-on orioles gear or the colors black and orange to their uniform.
Field Day shirts are due by Wednesday, April 17. Please put the plain white shirt in a ziplock bag with $2. Make sure both the shirt and the bag are labels with your student's name.

On Wednesday, March 27th we will have a Hold drill at 10:45. Please refer to the What's Ahead Wednesday for details on this specific drill.
Thursday, March 28th, will be a half day and the last day before spring break.
Spring break will start on Good Friday (March 29th). We will return back to school on April 8th.

Valentine's Day: This year Ash Wednesday falls on Valentine's Day. We will move our Valentine's Day celebration to Tuesday, February 13. Students are welcomed to bring Valentine cards for their classmates. If they do so, please make sure every student gets one (we have a total of 22 students).
This Lent, our school is starting a new program called "Lenten Journey with Jesus Journals." If your student would like to be apart of it, please print out the following document. Bring it back to school Monday, February 12th signed.
Wednesday is Ash Wednesday, the beginning of Lent. Students will participate in school-wide mass and receive ashes.

I want to thank all the PHSA members and parents who made Catholic Schools Week a great success! We are so thankful to have parents who support our community in all we do.
Thank you to those parents who took time out of their busy schedule to visit our 4th grade class. The students had a great time with you!

We do not have school Monday, January 15 due to MLK day. Enjoy the long weekend with your family.
This week we started MAP testing. Next week we will continue on Wednesday with the Language Arts MAP test, and conclude on Friday with the Math MAP test.
Students have been working hard on their posters for our Catholic Schools Week poster contest. Posters are due on January 17th. Students must complete the poster, as it is a Religion grade.

Good afternoon,
We have made it to break! I want to take a moment and say thank you for all the sweet Christmas gifts I received this week. It was so kind of you all to think of me. I am grateful to get to work with amazing students and families. I want to give a shout out to your awesome students! I was out for the past couple days and received great reports back from their substitute each day.
We will return from break January 3rd, 2024. I hope you all have a Merry Christmas filled with many blessings, and I look forward to seeing the students in the new year!

Week 12/4 Recap:
Here are a couple of reminders as we wrap up the week:
Today is a Holy Day of Obligation, as it is the Feast of the Immaculate Conception. Students went to mass today to celebrate. Ask your students what they learned about the Immaculate Conception!
We have started our new unit in science focusing on electricity and will start our new unit in religion next week.
Students will have their unit test for Social Studies on Thursday, December 14. A study guide will be provided next week.
This Sunday we start reflecting on peace. We discussed in class how this season is one of waiting with hope for the Lord, Jesus Christ. I encourage you to participate in the Parish's Advent services and events, as it will correlate with our upcoming lessons in class.
Our last day before Christmas break is Wednesday, December 20th. Please remember it is a half day!

Students did an AMAZING job during the nutcracker! They represented SUS at Towson University
Advent starts this Sunday. We will have prayer services every Monday morning to celebrate each week as a school. We discussed in class how this season is one of waiting with hope for the Lord, Jesus Christ. I encourage you to participate in the Parish's Advent services and events, as it will correlate with our upcoming lessons in class.

Please check that students are coming in with a jacket on. The weather is getting colder, but they will still be going outside.

Thank you for all who attended parent-teacher conferences. It was great to get to sit down with you all and talk about the great things your students are doing!
Students enjoyed making pumpkin slime on Halloween. We learned about the different types of matter, and discussed what type of matter our slime was.
On Wednesday, we celebrated All Saints Day by going to Mass as a school.
Here are some notes about next week:
Dollar day on Tuesday, November 7. If you did not prepay, students may bring a dollar in. Please refer to the handbook for out of uniform guidelines.
Open House on Friday, November 10 from 8:30-11:00 am.

Here are a couple of reminders as we wrap up week 8:
Today students were introduced to SUS's newest club: Bible Study Club. In this Bible study, students will discover God’s perfect plan for friendship, how to make friends, how to be a good friend, and how to pick a good friend. I will be monitoring the club alongside Mrs. Nietubicz. In the religion google classroom, there is a sign up link for the club. We will start this coming Friday, 10/27 during lunch/recess (limited to 15 participants). Please talk to your students about joining!
As we are reading Ivan in ELA class, please check in with your students to make sure they are completing the reading they need to if assigned homework.

NO SCHOOL this Monday, 10/16.
THANK YOU for your help and support this week for Harvest Festival! The students were very excited to spend the day with you all.
Students attended Eucharistic Adoration on Friday during Religion class. We prayed the whole rosary and spent time in quiet prayer. They did an amazing job with traveling to the church and staying reverent during our time in prayer!
Students should have brought home an order form for class photos. Please bring that signed before Thursday. We will be taking our class photo this Thursday, 10/19!

Tomorrow, 10/10, is an optional out of uniform day. Students must wear the colors orange or black in support of the Orioles in the playoffs. Please refer to the student handbook for any questions on out of uniform dress code.

Coming up in ELA, students will be starting a novel study. This may involve some reading for homework. Please make sure to check in EVERY NIGHT with your students about their homework assignments.
Reminder that there is no school tomorrow due to teacher Professional Development.
Check out our rock layers experiment we completed this week! We left stacks of bread overnight to see what would happen to the "fossils" overtime.

Here are a couple of reminders as we wrap up week 5:
We are going to wrap up our Growing with God series in Religion by Tuesday or Wednesday. Students should be bringing the worksheets home that we have been going through. Today they are bringing home a "Family Tech Rules" worksheet, and they were highly encourage (though NOT required) to complete with their parents. Please keep the worksheet at home for your own family's resource.
This week in Science, students completed the "Earthquake Challenge" by building a structure that could withstand a earthquake simulation. Students used their background knowledge about earthquakes and the engineering process to complete the project. Check out their buildings below!
Next week we have no school on Friday, October 6th due to teacher professional development.

We are finished with MAP testing until the Winter. Students worked hard during testing and were very flexible with schedule changes due to testing!
Students should have brought home info on receiving pictures from picture day. Please look through their take-home folders.

Please make sure chromebooks are getting charged at home! It is important that they are charged every night.
Students, unless told otherwise, will have homework every night but Friday. It is important that students complete all their homework every night. Please check in with your student about homework daily. As always, if there are any questions, feel free to reach out!
Students went to the band demo on Thursday. Mrs. Weglein helped our class fill out a google interest form, but continue to talk to your child about their interest in band!
Choir practice starts on Tuesday, September 19th. Please turn in permission slips as soon as possible.
