Good morning and welcome to Sturgis!
We are very excited to welcome our new Sturgis families! As part of our preparations for the new school year we aim to have our Class of 2030 students complete an in-person math and (possibly) language placement assessments on Thursday, July 16th at 10:00 am. The placement assessments will take place at Sturgis East, 427 Main Street, Hyannis, regardless of your campus assignment.
Please note, there is no pass or fail on these assessments. These assessments are simply tools we use to help identify the most appropriate classes for your child.
In addition to gaining this valuable information, we also like to take this opportunity to speak to parents and guardians. We know you might have a lot of questions and we will have staff members on hand who are very informed in the areas we have found most incoming parents wonder about.
Below is an outline of the morning for students as well as parents and guardians.
Students
Math placement assessments
Please come ready to test with two #2 pencils.
Students should arrive at the EAST campus building by 10:00 a.m.
Students will be directed to a classroom where they will take a math placement assessment, which takes approximately one hour.
Parents/Guardians
While your students are testing (10:00-11:00) please join us in our Atrium to meet other Sturgis parents.
Staff will also be on hand to highlight some of our programs and answer any questions you may have.
Please complete this RSVP FORM and contact Rachel Todoroff (rtodoroff@sturgischarterschool.org) with any questions. If you are unable to attend on June 16th, we will arrange an alternate date.
We are looking forward to seeing you all in a few weeks!
Sincerely,
Patrick O’Kane Jenn Kirk
