We've just learned that U.S. News and World Report's 2026-27 public high school rankings identify Sturgis as the #9 public high school in the state, #252 in the country, and #58 charter school nationwide. Of special note is that Sturgis is ranked #47 for all schools in the country via the college curriculum breadth index.

The enrollment period for next year will begin in December.
We ask that you use the Attendance Reporting Form to inform the school of any absences, tardies or dismissals. The form is located on the right hand side of the campus page of the website and on your Community Portal. This form should be completed by 9AM on the day of the dismissal. If a need arises to dismiss after 9AM, please call the main office to report the dismissal.

As students will not have access to their cellphones during the school day, except during lunch (11:35-12:30), please try to communicate daily plans with your child prior to school. If you need to reach them, you can either
leave a message on their cellphone to be retrieved during lunch
if it is time sensitive, call the main office and we can deliver a message
If you need to drop something off for your student, please bring it to the office and the student can pick it up there.

Welcome back! A few reminders as we start the year.
1. The emergency medical form needs to be completed for every student every year. Please click on the link below to complete it.

4. Please remember that students are not permitted to carry medications of any kind, including over the counter medications, without permission from the nurse. The only exception is inhalers, epinephrine devices (Epipens), and diabetic supplies.
5. If your child has an illness or injury that may impact their school day please let the school nurse know. Examples include if your student has a cast or a immobilizer, is using crutches, or should not use the stairs.
Lastly, we could like to remind you of when to keep your child home from school due to illness. Please see the chart below. Please keep in mind that we have students and staff whose immune systems are compromised so following these sick day rules is extremely important for everyone's health. For this reason, if your student comes to school with any of the above symptoms and/or is not well enough to be in school, they will be sent home by the school nurse. Continue to use the attendance reporting form and indicate what symptoms your child is having when they are home sick.

The Massachusetts Application for State Financial Aid (MASFA) provides a pathway for eligible students who are unable to complete the FAFSA, including qualifying undocumented students, to apply for Massachusetts state financial aid.

PSAT – Grade 11 Students We invite all Sturgis 11th-grade students to take the PSAT this October- Date TBD. All Grade 11 students are automatically registered for the exam, so families do not need to complete a separate registration.

Please note that a graphing calculator is an important tool that students will use regularly in math class throughout the year. We recommend that students have a TI-84 Plus CE, or TI-84 Plus, graphing calculator for class, homework, and assessments. If obtaining a calculator creates a financial hardship for your family, please don’t hesitate to reach out to your child’s teacher—we are happy to help!
Additionally, if you are purchasing a new TI calculator, you may notice TI Points included on the box. We kindly ask that families donate these points to the school (via your child’s math teacher). TI Points can be redeemed to help us purchase new calculators for students who may not otherwise be able to afford one. Your donation can make a meaningful difference for another Sturgis student!

If you do not receive Free or Reduced Price Lunch, you will be directed to Paypal to complete the order. For those on the Reduced plan, you will be billed for the reduced payments ordered at the end of each month.
Orders must be placed by 9:00AM for lunch on the day of the order. You may order for multiple days at once.

We encourage families with financial need to apply for this program. If your child has received a free or reduced lunch in the past, please note that the federal government requires that you reapply each year. You can access the application forms on the Sturgis website. For students who qualify for a free or reduced lunch, Sturgis works with SUBWAY to provide fresh and delicious lunch options.
There are additional benefits for qualifying students including:

School field trips
School events, including proms and special events
College Application Processing Services (CAPS)

Sturgis is excited to announce a partnership with Music Of The Bay to offer instrument rentals. To reserve your instrument, please fill out the form by following this link. To receive your instrument by the first drop-off date, please register before Tuesday, September 8th. You’ll be able to pick up your instrument from Mr. Magnant (West) or Mrs. Sheeler (East) during the week of September 14th.
