February 11- Seal of Biliteracy Testing
As part of the process to earn the State Seal of Biliteracy, 12th-grade students who signed up to take or retake their world language assessment will test on February 10 and/or 11. If registered, both you and your student should have received an email with their assigned testing date, along with important details regarding transportation, payment (for those retaking missed sections), and location. If you did not receive this information, and believe you should have, please email Emily Masil at emasil@sturgischarterschool.org.

ACCESS for ELs
All EL (English Learner) students from Sturgis West will be taking the ACCESS for ELs language proficiency test from February 2-4.
The ACCESS is administered each year to all students classified as ELs throughout the state of Massachusetts to provide a standardized measure of academic language proficiency for EL students.

Sturgis West will present Baby Blue - written by current Sturgis West Junior Robbie Rotondi. This play is a story reflecting real-world struggles of a young man finding his way and battling the challenges of his everyday world and internal struggles. We want to let you know in advance that this play includes strong language and depicts characters navigating mental health challenges and thoughts of suicide. We believe these topics are vital to discuss, but we understand they can be difficult. Recommended for ages 14+ and audience discretion is advised.

Students who are writing IB exams this year (all grade 12, some grade 11) should be aware that Mock Exams are April 7-10, 2026 and IB Exams are April 27-May 20, 2026. Full details can be found on the Sturgis IB Office website. Please ensure your student will be in school on all of these dates. Elective appointments or engagements (e.g. dentist, vacation) should be scheduled for other times. If you have any questions, please contact Julie Carman, IB Coordinator at jcarman@sturgischarterschool.org
