History

Deva Bhasha Sanskrit Society was established in 2023 by a group of students of IIT Madras BS Degree who shared a common interest in the Sanskrit language, literature and associated culture.

MIssION & Activities

अहं पठामि संस्कृतम्।

अहं वदामि संस्कृतम्।

अहं लिखामि संस्कृतम्।

सदैव सुन्दराक्षरम्।

"I read in Sanskrit, speak in Sanskrit and write in Sanskrit; always, with beautiful letters."

We aim to promote and preserve the Sanskrit language and associated literature through various activities such as workshops, reading sessions, and quizzes. We regularly host Subhashitha sessions, release a monthly Sanskrit magazine, and conduct interviews with scholars.

Additionally, we also aim to promote historical scripts related to Sanskrit like Grantham and Devanagari.

Our goal is also in the study of Indian Knowledge Systems and Culture inter alia Bhakti movement, Kerala school of mathematics, Sad-Darshana-s, Vaidika Dharma, Shastras and Smritis.
