Broadway Experience Summer Intensives
The Broadway Experience: A Wicked Workshop
2 Weeks: June 10-22
FULL DAY only Monday-Friday from 9am-4pm
$400 per student
Designed for students entering grades 5-12
Get ready to take on the Trunchbull and sing and dance your heart out as we put together a show based on the book, hit musical, and new movie! This camp requires an audition to determine roles before the first day of camp. Performances are on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday of the 2nd week of class.
Some performers are ready to take their training to the next level and be a part of a full-scale summer production. These intensives are designed for kids with previous performing experience, or who are ready to tackle the task of memorizing lines and learning a show at a fast pace.
Whether you're looking to star in your first production, build new roles for your resume, or just have a great time performing, this is the summer program for you!
Auditions are required for some shows.
To audition, please register for the camp. Audition materials will be sent to you to review for casting on the first day of camp.
If for some reason you are not cast in the show, you will be given the option to transfer into one of our other full day camps, or issued a refund for your camp tuition.
For performances, students will be required to provide:
1-2 costumes (guidelines will be given well in advance for your character) Some costuming will be provided by Studio 3.
Shoes (typically jazz shoes or street shoes are used. You will receive a guide for your character)
Makeup
Underclothes (for shows where there are costume changes, actors will be asked to provide a basic set of underclothes, which usually consists of a tight fitting tank or leo and shorts for girls and a tank or shirt and short for boys.
Have a parent who wants to help out?
Some partial scholarships are available for kids with parents who are able to help with sets, props, or costumes for the show. Please reach out if you are in need of financial assistance and have a parent willing to work on our show.
HOW TO AUDITION
NOTE: You may submit one continuous audition video, or 1-3 small clips in separate videos.
2 WAYS TO AUDITION:
OPTION 1 - BASIC AUDITION VIDEO
Not sure what role to audition for? Maybe its your first time auditioning? This might be the best choice for you.
Choose any 30 seconds to a minute of a song that showcases your voice. Make sure you sing to a karaoke track.
Then perform a 30 second monologue (you can google ideas for these online)
If you ONLY want speaking roles (non-singing roles) you do not have to submit a singing audition.
If you choose this type of video, we may reach out to you and ask you to submit callback material for a specific character.
OPTION 2 - CHARACTER AUDITION SUBMISSION
If you know what character(s) you'd like to be, you can submit material for those characters.
For each show, go to the following link and choose your show title to see the "callback material" for each show.
Choose any 1-2 characters from the show you are participating in. We suggest doing 2 because it gives us more to see from you!
Sing 30 seconds to a minute of 1 of your character's songs.
Then with a family member or friend, read 1-2 scenes.
After we receive your video(s), if we need to see more from you, we will let you know.
