WHAT IS A PORTFOLIO OF LEARNING?
According to Zubizarreta (2009), a Portfolio of Learning (PoL) is a purposeful collection of work and learning artifacts that explicitly demonstrates a student's effort, progress, achievements, and competencies gained over time. Rather than a static archive of assignments, it serves as a dynamic, "rich, convincing, and adaptable method of recording intellectual growth" (Zubizarreta, 2009).
For me, this digital space functions as both an academic record and a personal learning journey.
The space will explore the following key areas:
Foundational knowledge and artifacts
Professional and personal growth
Critical and deep reflections
I believe my education should be just as honest and shared. Therefore, I expect this portfolio of learning to be a transparent mirror of my growth. I do not want it to look perfect. I expect it to show the raw, messy transition from a first-year student into a capable clinician.

This discipline is about understanding the world of medicine. I will be exploring the History of Medicine, Bioethics and Health Law, Sociology,Psychology and Medical Education. It will help me navigate the holistic approach to healthcare. It aims to enhance my critical thinking, communucation ,information literacy and digital literacy.

This course is about how to make me a better doctor by understanding public health and health system science, how to navigate the complex nature of a healthcare system. The discipline has principles and tools of systems thinking which will develop my critical thinking and use of data analytics to make informed decisions. It aims to cultivate a mindset of continuous personal development, promoting lifelong learning and professional growth to adapt to evolving health care landscapes.
