Hello, My name is Annette Pierce. I have been a librarian in the Wichita Falls ISD for 9 years and have been at Franklin Elementary School for 7 years. Being a librarian is so rewarding; I enjoy connecting students to books and helping all that come to the library for help. I have been a teacher in Wichita Falls and San Antonio, Texas, Tucson, Arizona, and Great Falls, Montana. I have over 15 years teaching experience. My experience includes teaching Preschool Programs for Children with Disabilities (PPCD), Kindergarten, 1st grade, 3rd grade, 5th grade, and 6th grade. I have also held a variety of other positions such as being a math tutor, home-to-school facilitator, and math specialist to name a few. I find working in education very rewarding!
My husband and I have been married 38 years. We've lived in Wichita Falls for 18 years. My husband retired from the Air Force, yet continues to work at Sheppard Air Force Base. We have two amazing children that are both connected to the military. My son is in the Air Force and is stationed here in Wichita Falls. He is married and has twin sons. I call them his "mini-mes." My daughter is currently residing in North Pole, Alaska with her husband, an Army helicopter pilot, and my two granddaughters and other grandson. We love to visit them!
I enjoy such a variety of things; one, of course, is reading. It's a great way to go on new adventures without leaving the comforts of home. My favorite thing is to spend time with my grandchildren. They are such a blessing and bring great joy to me! I enjoy crocheting, knitting, and sewing, but my favorite is crocheting. Traveling to new places is also something I enjoy doing. Our most recent adventure took us to Colorado where we hiked to Hope Lake. Wow! What a view! I have been very fortunate to go to many amazing places and thoroughly enjoy visiting unusual places like the largest ball of twine in Minnesota, the Eye in London in London, England, or the Jolly Green Giant Statue in Blue Earth, Minnesota. Where have you been?
I look forward to another year at Franklin Elementary School. As I said before, I thoroughly enjoy being a librarian! Please stop by and say hello!
