Ms. Roy

Interviewed by AJ Gencarelli

Where did you grow up and go to school?

I grew up in Narragansett and attended Narragansett High School. I then attended Assumption University for my undergraduate degree and Providence College for my master's degree.

Have you worked at another school before?

Yes, I was a third-grade teacher at Father Holland Elementary School. After college, I worked in Burriville and Coventry. After completing my master's, I was hired here.

What inspired you to become a guidance counselor?

I never thought that I would be a guidance counselor. I went to school for elementary education, and a professor during my master's forced me to do a guidance internship. I loved it, and if I hadn't been pushed to do the internship, I may have never become a guidance counselor.

My job, which I love. I am a morning person and am always up early!
