Where did you grow up and go to school?
I grew up in Westerly, RI. I went to St. Pius X school from Kindergarten to 6th grade, then to Westerly Middle School, Westerly High School, and then finally to the University of Rhode Island.
Have you worked at another school before?
Yes, I worked at a school in Etna, Maine for a year. I then took some time off to raise my 3 children. I then worked at St. Pius Catholic School for 7 years. Since then, I’ve been working at Westerly High School.
What inspired you to become a teacher?
I have always loved math, and had some wonderful teachers who inspired me; Joyce Street, John Donato, and Joy Sacco.
What is your favorite part about teaching at WHS?
My favorite part of teaching at WHS is sharing my love of math with the students in the town that I grew up in. I love them and would do anything to help them grow.
What are some of your hobbies and interests outside of school?
Some of my hobbies are reading, taking walks in watch hill, golfing, traveling to Aruba (my favorite place), taking barre classes, and spending every minute with my 4 beautiful grandsons: Owen, Cole, Ryan and Chase.
What motivates you to get up in the morning?
What motivates me to get up in the morning is my faith, my family and my dedication to help students learn.
What is your greatest accomplishment?
My greatest accomplishment is raising my 3 children (Kristen, Amy and Steven) while teaching, getting my masters, and tutoring.
What is something that most students at WHS do not know about you?
Most students don’t know what my real age is. I tell them that I’m x + 20! Also, that I was a cheerleader at WHS and a Ramette at URI. I love dancing!

At the top of my bucket list is to continue to see my grandsons grow, visit Italy and to go to Fatima.

I am most excited to continue teaching with my math peeps who have become my dear friends, to learn and grow in my profession, and seeing my students be successful.
