Where did you grow up and go to school?
I grew up in South Kingstown and I went to South Kingstown High School.
Have you worked at another school before?
I have worked at North Smithfield High School, and I have worked at a high school in Bowling Green, Kentucky, and a high school in Pembroke Pines, Florida, which is in between Fort Lauderdale and Miami.
What inspired you to become a teacher?
I had a really awesome chemistry teacher in high school who inspired me a lot, and both of my parents are actually teachers.
What is your favorite part about teaching at WHS?
The kids; they make it so fun. Just seeing them engage in material, and learning new things, and conquering really difficult stuff is super fun.
What are some of your hobbies and interests outside of school?
I used to horseback ride quite frequently. My daughter still does, so I help her take care of the horse. I like to be outside. I love my pets, so I like doing stuff with them, going for hikes, and things like that. I’m a big animal lover.
What motivates you to get up in the morning?
My family. I love seeing my daughter enthusiastic for school. She loves school, so I love seeing her get ready and be excited, and then I’m really excited to see my other kids, my students, first thing in the morning.
What is your greatest accomplishment?
Being a mom, definitely.
What is something that most students at WHS do not know about you?
I’ve lived in both Florida and Kentucky!
What is on the top of your bucket list?
I want to travel more, for sure. I want to go to more places in the US. I’ve never really been out west, so that’s definitely on the bucket list. I’d love to go to Hawaii.
What are you most excited for this school year?
Chem team! I love chem team! I’m so excited for chem team. I can not wait to go to the contest. I’m super competitive and we’ve got a great team. Even though some can’t all compete I’m still very pumped about it.
